Official Miami Heat 2014-2015 Season - Regular Season 3.0 - WE FIGHT!

Post#1 » by LEIF » Mon Mar 30, 2015 3:22 pm

Saw a blurb about Boston preparing to give KLeonard a MASSIVE offer sheet to try to deter Spurs to not match (but we all know they will match)...perfect chance for Riley to sweep in and steal Danny Green. My #1 free agent target with MLE for me. Backup for Wade & best shooter available.

You sure Green could be had for MLE? Because that would be **** perfect. Sniper that plays SG/SF and defends, isn't that our exact need for next year?

Green will get way more then the MLE.

Marco Belinelli Might be in our range.

And we need to draft a Center, With our second round pick or hopefully try to move up.

that massive offer this summer will not be so massive in 2 years when max contracts are over 30mil.

Danny Green for MLE would be incredible. But.....

Won't that eat into the space we need for WhiteSide?

Whiteside is a FA when the cap jumps up to $92 million.

We're not acquiring a center. Who do we dump for a second pick?

He'll get "way more than the MLE" from a really bad team. If that's the route he wants to take, then yeah, he'll get paid. But if he wants to win, he'll need to take less. Is he an RFA or UFA?

Why would Green come here to back up Wade when he is a starter for the Spurs? For the same amount of money? He will get money throw at him from the Knicks probably or Lakers. There is no way he gets the MLE, he will get more, and start on whatever team he is on

The least he gets IMO is 8mil. If Boris Diaw can get 8mil+ so can Green. I mean if Avery Bradley in this league is also 8mil...

UFA. If Manu retires they should have no problem paying Green. He wont get the max or something but Spurs will have enough, its Duncan or Manu who has to sacrifice or retire. Duncan still has a lot left in the tank but he wont take 10mil next season

They will have enough for Kawhi and Green but they will go after Gasol and Green would be an after thought. If they dont get Gasol, which is highly likely, they will just wait when the cap continually rises anyway.

Again they have 33mil next season, Green is the odd man out still, but i dont want to hear him coming to back up Wade for the MLE... He has worked his reputation to be a starter in this league for a good amount of money.

Yeah I thought Danny Green is worth more than MLE too. Too bad.

Green is a starter. He would not come off the bench here. And I prefer Deng.

whoa I post about a guy I think would fit in well for the Heat and people react like I said I heard it was a done deal....

Danny Green may be too expensive, fair point there..but the whole starter thing is BS....if this team is going to ever be good enough again while Wade is around to make a deep run it will require basically having another SG that is a 2nd starting shooting guard so Wade can pick and choose his spots and we can make it through the stretches when he cant play..

but yes I think Green will get more than the MLE. should have clarified that in my post I guess..

Now we're talking. Green off the bench
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Riley surprised us w/ Shaq, he got the Lebron/Bosh deal done when we all thought there was no way we get 3 all-stars in their prime, we thought we couldn't land anybody above average this season & Riley miraculously handed us Dragic.......would we all be surprised if he can get us Green? plus persuade him to come off the bench? After all Wade is known to go on maintenance absences so he'd get his minutes no worries.

It's going to be an interesting offseason. Riley is going to dangle Dragic, Wade, Deng, Bosh,Whiteside into players faces and see if they can resist the potential greatness that lies ahead. Riley is going to have a ball.

I think Green is being overvalued here if you're thinking he's getting more than MLE.
