I'm concerned there are prospects with hype ala Aaron Gordon and Marcus Smart but hopefully we strike gold again like we did with Randle and Clarkson.

If those two are part of the future, I'd prefer someone who will be dominating inside and rim protector to mesh with Clarkson and Randle's attacking styles. Someone offensively better that Ed Davis but with his defense. Then fill out the roster with a 3 and D SG and SF of the future.

If we fall to 5, Justise Winslow would be an apealling choice.

I love Myles Turner´s game, but i wouldn´t pick him in the Top 5.

You'd want to avoid drafting a PF if you can in this draft. A PG is fine since Clarkson is a combo guard anyways.

I can't see a PF worth a top 5 pick anyways. Towns/Randle is just a beast combo if both translate well into the NBA.

winslow would be a great sf for us
c--WCS
pf--love
f---winslow
sg--kobe
pg--clarckson
so love is the free agent and randle would have to be traded for WCS??????

I would love to see a Randle/Towns combo in L.A.

But, unless we rise to 1 or 2, we´ll have to look elsewhere.

I like Winslow but if I pick #3 in this draft, it better not be someone who can't dribble. I'd rather trade that pick than take Winslow.

DX really soured on Stanley Johnson after having him 5th nearly all season long. Makes me wonder how much they actually watch these West Coast guys.

thegamefritz wrote:IF we Pick #1 or #2 no question about that, it would be either Karl Towns Or Jahlil Okafor. If we pick @ #3 to #5 I'd still prefer a bigman and It'll be Willie Cauley-Stein. We stay away from Russell and Mudiay as it will hinder the development of Clarkson, while Clarkson will never be an elite PG or elite player, he can be a George Hill type PG. and PG is the most abundant most replaceable position now.

our 2nd 1st rd should be a PG. Tyus jones or Donnel Wright

our 2nd rd pick should still be a bigman like Dakari Johnson

pg is abundant, so then why would you pass on someone who can fill the sg spot, which is basically the complete opposite and a hard spot to fill?
clarkson is ok, but i don't think the development argument is a good reason to pass on russell.

towns/okafor/russell are basically t3. i don't have much interest in the other names until justise winslow, who you can probably get at 5 or 6.

agree with tyus jones if you can grab him late but he already has everyone watching him so unlikely
i think rozier is also someone to keep an eye out on as he has the tools to be a 2 way player. valuable bench player right away imo.
not sure why tokoto doesn't get much hype but i really like this kid so he's another 2nd rounder i would look out for.

Exact same thing for Stanley Johnson over at nbadraft.net, they have him at 9 too after having him at 5 for a long time.

Also looks like they dropped looney, down to 14. Both these guys have dropped a fair amount over the last few tourney weeks.

Would be curious to know your thoughts on Winslow. I know that it seems draft-wise centers and point guards are typically weighed higher than for wing prospects, and it does stand to reason that once these kids go to the pros a SF may very well be a top 5 player (especially as LeBron has made a great wing defender so important), what's the line of thinking?

Are there some particularly juicy advanced stats on his perimeter defense?

I mean I'd love Winslow next to Randle. But does it warrant a top 3 pick?

I still have Okafor comfortably number 1 on my board. The guy is easily the most polished center offensively i've seen in college in over a decade and I can't turn that down over potential at the number 1 slot.

Definitely, Looney is 20th on DX, 20th!!! :nonono:

Mind you, I obviously hope Looney continues to fall but hopefully on GMs boards too, I'd love to end up with a top 5 pick AND Looney.
2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust
