Favorite 5 Bulls

Post#1 » by pipfan » Fri Apr 3, 2015 11:57 am

Now and Ever? I started with the bulls in 84, when MJ arrived. I was a Bucks' fan before that.

Now
1. Butler-he is what the Bulls are about-gotta love his story and his attitude
2. Noah-Heart of the team, even in a down year. He is great to have on your team
3. Niko-and rising-he is so easy to like
4. Taj-I love his effort and attitude
5. Rose-how the mighty have fallen-seems like he lost his passion for the game

Ever
Pippen-my favorite player ever-such great improvement and so fun to watch
2. MJ-I remember when he was named NBA Player of the Week-Bernie Lincome (great Chicago sports writer) said that was like calling water the most valuable liquid. He was too good to be my favorite-if that makes sense
3. Noah-I hope he retires with us, or at least wins a ring
4. Deng-super professional
5. Kirk-helped bring us back to respectability

Most Disappointing
1. Thomas-man I wanted TT to be an All Star
2. Rose-I hate this new Rose, I really hope he comes back, at least with his attitude
3. Curry-He could have been so good
4. Brad Sellers-had all the tools, none of the heart
5. JWill-the only Bulls game I have been to since MJ was his super triple double against JKidd-I thought he was going to be great

Now
1. Niko-Love his game, his potential, his swagger
2. Butler-Has put in so much hard work, deserves to be where he is at right now
3. Rose-Will always be one of my fav
4. Noah-Every team needs that one guy, and he's our heart and soul
5. Pau-That midrange J is wet, have a feeling he is gonna deliver in the playoffs

Ever
1. Rose-No Chicago Bull has ever entertained me the way he has during his healthy years. (I was born in 92', didnt really see MJ years)
2. Gordon-Almost like Rose, he made Bulls fun to watch during baby bulls era
3. Kirk-I started watching the year Kirk was drafted, will always love his scrappiness
4. Deng-Won't ever forget the year he was unstoppable from midrange
5. Noah-Bull for life

Most disappointing
1. There have been many

Good thread for a relatively down time such as this one.

Now
1.) Butler
2.) Niko
3.) Noah
4.) Rose: I agree with the OP's assessment. Rose would go back to being my #1 favorite if he were to return to anything like All-Star form, but as it stands I'm one of the many Bulls fans who's been disappointed by his public rhetoric and by the results of his rehabs (compared with the results achieved by certain other, injured stars)
5.) Taj

All-time
1.) Jordan
2.) Pippen
3.) Brand
4.) Gordon
5.) Deng

Disappointing:
Tyrus Thomas: I wanted Aldridge but was determined to give the Bulls the benefit of the doubt. I thought that TT's ceiling could be Antonio McDyess, as there were a lot of similarities, but the mental differences proved insurmountable.
Ben Wallace: How I wanted him to work out!-- but it was apparent even to supporters like me that that contract wasn't going to play out well given his age at the time. Didn't foresee such a precipitous decline, however. Joe Dumars's revenge.
Rip Hamilton: The year before we got him, when he still seemed to have something left in the tank, I felt sure that he could be the missing piece if we could get him on a vet minimum contract after the Pistons would buy him out. But he wouldn't accept the buyout, we signed him for way too much the next year, and the tank quickly ran dry. Joe Dumars's revenge part 2.
Eddie Basden: wanted him to be the elusive "2 guard who can shoot and defend" without any evidence that he could play at the NBA level.
Jay Williams: pretty obvious. Mothers, don't let your sons grow up to ride mopeds.
(Yeah, I know, it was actually a motorcycle, but it wasn't that big and "moped" fits the cadence better.)

Current:

1. Butler (Jimmy Butler is not impressed.)
2. Niko (Most entertaining to watch on the team.)
3. McDermott (Shameless fanboy.)
4. Noah
5. Taj

Ever:

1. Pippen
2. Deng
3. Jordan (I totally understand the OP saying he's "too good to be my favorite" - plus, he's kind of a dick)
4. Hinrich
5. Kukoc

Most Disappointing:

1. Curry (So much talent, such a bum.)
2. T. Thomas (I thought he had the ability to be one of the best defenders in the NBA.)
3. Rose

Now:

Noah - loved that they drafted him. Hated his attitude as a rookie but loved his energy. Has been my favorite since he was drafted.
Rose - what was not to love about Rose pre-ACL? Still holding out hope we see that guy again someday.
Butler - watched him at Marquette and loved his work ethic then. Has such a great personality... Hard not to like him.
Niko - the fresh faces newcomer to seems to be fitting in seamlessly. His unpredictable game is fun to watch.
Kirk - hate his game now, but love his effort. Kind of a career achievement pick.

All time
Jordan - I feel like my young teenager life revolved around Michal Jordan and the Bulls.
Rodman - he was so fun to watch. Always have his all. I like the ever changing hair too.
Artest - I hated when we got rid of him. He was a hard nosed player.
Noah - See above. Will probably go down as my favorite Bull ever.
Rose - see above.

Disappointing/hated
Gordon - I wish the contract disputing never happened.
Fizer - for some reason I had such high hopes.
Starks - wish that guy never put a Bulls uniform on.
John Salley - see Starks.
Rip - could have been so much more. Maybe it was just bad timing. Either way, I hated the way he played when he was a Bull.

And just a shout out for most disappointed - Ronnie Lester. Poor kid. Could have been tremendous but was even more of an injury train wreck than DRose.

I'll lead this off by saying that the big stars are usually not my favorite players, and that I tend to favor guards over big men. Also, I didn't become a Bulls' fan until the mid 2000's, although I watched the MJ-era team a lot.

Nothing wrong with that. Bob Gibson is my favorite Cardinal, and I never saw him play.

Pre injury d rose-youngest mvp ever
kukoc-underated
