You're obviously a kid.

And for you to say "forget bigs", you obviously don't know basketball.

I don't get the love people show with Black, yes he tries hard but wow is dude clueless on D. Watching Clipp game last night, he has no idea where to be defensively....seems like he's easily lost on transition and generally lost everytime there's a PnR situation, he doesn't know who to pickup.

Hell man, his athleticism alone is a sight for sore eyes.

He's not likely to be a big-time starter for us, but he can definitely be a serviceable, cheap, and active big off the bench...and he's a rook. So there's some promise there.

not saying we have a plethora of talent in the big man department but that comparison is like comparing a ford pinto to a ford fiesta

yes, I want neither honestly....only reason either one is on this team now is because we suck and mgmt. just collecting whatever trash they can find in hopes of turning it into treasure. I questioned the contract for sacre too but was given same BS rationale that some are using for black now, that he's a big decent enough to be end of bench guy but now Sacre is the scurge of the talentless chump who shouldn't be on the team. Not saying Black is that either, my question is for those placing him as the #2 or even as a the starting C for next year, I'm not seeing that sort talent IMO.

According to 82games.com, Black at center has a PER of 18.2 and his opponents have PERs of 16.1. If 15.0 constitutes your "average player" in the NBA, then Tarik is probably an okay 3rd big and a nice 4th. Again, you touched on it: he's a minimum, non-guaranteed contract. If people expect more out of him then they're just projecting on him. The fact that he's a rookie allows for that, but to me his size means even if he improved a lot he's only got about 5 years of that athleticism left in him.

I agree he's not the answer, but like we've said: slim pickings. I do think he's an okay alternative to when Ed Davis walks this summer.

You can take issue with signing a guy like Sacre, but then complaining when the FO tries another option who is in fact better just seems like you're looking to complain. We don't have a ton of resources or ways to improve. Would you rather they didn't pick up Tarik and just kept giving minutes to Sacre?

Always fun to read the views on a prospect based on a couple tourney games.

The Winslow hype is out of control right now.

That's like looking at a plate of burnt beans and saying; "Beans suck!" Not realizing that while these beans may be burnt to **** and taste ass, beans CAN in fact be cooked in a way that makes them taste good.

Point being, MVP quality bigs are a lot more rare than MVP quality 1-3s... But an MVP quality Big will have a much greater impact on the game than those other guys... They make the whole game a lot easier.
Don't mistake this current idiomatic 'Small-Ball' era, for the whole picture of what makes a successful NBA Team.

Elite Forwards and Guards win regular season games, but they don't win championships without Elite Bigs... Look at the last 30 years or so worth of Championships for proof.
Also, Dynasty's are built on Bigs.

Anthony Davis is only in his 3rd year and he's already a top 5 player (some would argue top 3) in the league. I'm sure 95% of GMs would pick him over any other player to start their teams.

I will let you know after tonight.

But so far from Wisconsin and Kentucky.

Towns has alot of Potential. But, Next to Kaminsky he looks like a 12 year old going against
the fundalmentals of a 18 year old. Towns can be developed because he has the work ethic.

Kaminsky has a unique skill and High IQ.
He undersstands BBall and his extra years in college showed.

He has a dangerous pivot foot and spin that draws fouls, can shoot the three.
Reminds me of a Marc Gasol with a better fundamentals.

Towns only had one move that made me wish big guys stayed in college for 3 to 4 years.
He has the work ethic to be good and rebounds but his high school coaches did not develop
him enough.

I am think Kaminsky is going to be better than people think.

Tonight will be a good night to watch.

Dekker I thought was a player waiting to be a role player which was disappointing because
he has the fundamental skills.

the winslow hype IS crazy, feels a little hasty to bump a guy up so severely because of the last games of the season. to me it just adds to the scouting report, just some final notes. It's hard for me to rate a dude so highly unless he's literally the star of the squad and removing them would cripple the squad but doesn't seem that way here.

This Winslow hype reminds me of Shabazz Napier last year at UConn.

in a draft that full of good big and lead guard, its very unwise to draft a SF that can't really shoot or playmaking.

SF is a dime a dozen, and i dont think they even an important position in NBA.. just slide someone who tall enough and can defense and shooting and we are golden. in other hand, a good big or a good lead guard is the recipe to success.

we could even draft decent SF with Rockets pick (Rondae, Justin, Dekker)

dont forget Kahwi, Middleton and Caroll will hit FA market.

Winslow is 100x the player that Napier is/was. He's not in that first tier (Okafor, Towns, Mudiay, and Russell), but he's got an argument to be as high as #5.
