Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet has reported Zlatan Ibrahimovic as applied for a long-term visa for the United States, fuelling speculation he will move to MLS.

Ibrahimovic, 33, reportedly went to the U.S. embassy in Paris on March 19 to apply for the visa, which the Swede would not require if he were only visiting the country as a tourist.

"We cannot comment on individual cases," Aftonbladet cites a U.S. embassy official as stating, though added the same official confirmed Ibrahimovic had been to the embassy.

Ibrahimovic signed a one-year contract extension two years ago, taking him through 2016 at Paris Saint-Germain.

Ibrahimovic has previously said that PSG will be the last European club he plays for.

Well he does have a point lol. MLS is an awful league, Jozy Altidore will probably look like Messi. He could not score to save his life in the Prem. MLS is a league were past it players go to retire, one day MLS will be huge there is so much potential in USA.

That might take a while - for as long as the perception of soccer being a little kids and mainly girls sport, it will be difficult to develop such talent as the South Americans, Africans and Europeans do. American football, baseball and basketball are dominant in North America, soccer has a long way to go to get there.
