I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel

Post#1 » by Fadeaway_Jumper » Wed Apr 8, 2015 6:15 am

We already know that clarkson is going to be a nice PG down the road, having a great 2nd half this rookie season. If Randle comes back healthy, and if we land a great player in the lottery, all these losses would be worth it. We would have a great young core that would be better than Utahs, and we would slowly build back up our old winning culture.

We could be the next OKC.

Light at the end of the tunnel is the end of the season so we dont have to watch these horrid games all while rooting for our team to lose!

Im glad its just about over

Wes Johnson  ....man our wing is a sad sad bunch, even if there was a machine that could combine a players best attributes between Wes & Kelly, would create a marginal to avg. role player lol.

As long as the Lakers keep their pick, they will have a nice core of young players. However to say it would be better than Utah's is a reach. They have a young core of Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors, Dante Exum, and Rudy Gobert. That list doesn't include Trey Burke or Alec Burks. The Lakers have Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle, and hopefully a top 5 pick in the upcoming draft.

Exactly. I'm hyped about the future, hopefully with at least a top 3 pick from this year, but you don't have to downplay others. Utah has a great young team with another lotto pick, we are just getting started. I'm ok with even getting Winslow at the 4, I thought he was very underrated before going to college and he showed some glimpses. But the prize here is Towns, he would be perfect next to Randle, we would have no spacing issues for the next decade with two bigs that can stretch the floor. Towns can protect the rim while Randle crash the boards.

For the Laker fans that doesn't know anyone from the draft I would recommend you check out these guys from this draft.

Towns-Okafor-Winslow-Russell-WCS(this is for our top 5 pick)
George Lucas-Justin Anderson-Cliff Alexander-Robert Upshaw-RHJ for our late 1st and early 2nd.

Can we just wait until the lottery night before we post making thread like this? If we lose the pick, will you still see the light? Or follow the light?

We won't lose the pick. We've hit the bottom and I don't think we'll fall any further.

Again, let's wait until after lottery night.

Hey guys, i'm a huge kobe and laker fan. But i also like the bulls as well! I was a laker fan first but the bulls just grew on me. I'm looking to see how the lakers pan out in the future. I love this organization and loving our young assets. trust the management to bring all the pieces together.

Only players I really want are Towns/Okafor/Russell. If all 3 are off the board, I'd trade down to get Mario Hezonja and another player (Devin Booker?)

Trading down is a good idea but there aren't much teams that hold multiple 1st round picks(I checked there is only Boston with two non-lotto picks). Also I would prefer Winslow to Okafor. Before the NCAA season even began I thought Towns and Winslow were the best prospects, till Russell exploded into the scene.

I'd take russell 1st overall. He looks like the next big thing in combo guards and i think he'd make a great fit alongside jordan clarkson since both can shoot off ball.
