Mario Chalmers appears frustrated and said he is unsure of his place on the Miami Heat.

“I don’t even really know what my role is on this team anymore,” Chalmers said. “I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing.”

Chalmers has started at point guard and shooting guard as well as backing up both positions this season.

“A lot of people are out of rhythm, and you really don’t know what’s going to happen — when you’re going to get the ball, when you’re going to shoot it, you just never know. You just got to be ready for everything, I guess,” Chalmers said.

Dragic also said recently he feels slow and does not feel right and is out of rhythm. Here is the link: http://heatzone.blog.palmbeachpost.com/ ... 03/dragic/

That is exactly what I have been saying for a long time. He looks like a totally different player this year. So much slower and less aggressive. Last year he would take over and dominate a game offensively. This year he barely has an impact on some games. At best he seems like an average point guard. Nothing close to third team All NBA. Obviously his problem was not the Suns. He is having the same problems on the Heat. I still cannot believe anyone would give him a 5 year, 108 million dollar max contract. I have said it all season. I would not even give him Eric Bledsoe's contract. Why would you reward a guy who appears to be having a down year compared to the previous year. Usually it is the opposite. Dragic is getting exposed for what he is. I honestly feel bad for him. He plays with heart. But again, I do not think he will ever be better than he was last year. Seven years into the league and only one really good year. How could anyone designate him a franchise caliber talent. No way.

Btw, is anyone watching the Cavaliers versus Bulls game? Kevin Love has looked terrible in the first half. He can barely elevate. He is another player I would have zero interest in giving a max contract to. Can barely jump, plays no defense, and has no inside game. Suns should stay away from him. They need a young, athletic, dynamic power forward. Not a guy like Love who camps at the three point line. I do not think Love is worth the contract he wants.

Kinda nice to hear this. I think Goran flourishes best when he's the #1 option. Doesn't necessarily mean team success but that's why he does. I hope he bolts the Heat this offseason for LAL. This way he brings them down and helps our draft situation going forward.
Who'd have thought the whole Dragic fiasco would turn out to be positive.

Maybe I'm just a little bitter about the whole Dragic thing, but I hope the Heat miss the playoffs. I don't care so much about IT leaving, so if Boston makes the playoffs it's no big deal. I'd prefer the Pacers take the 8th seed though. :)

Yeah, I'd love to see the Hawks have to face George and the Pacers in the first round. The Pacers clobbered the Heat on Sunday with George back. I wouldn't mind the Heat getting the 7th seed and playing the Cavs though. Might be interesting.

Boston would be somewhat interesting. Brooklyn, not so much.

Also, the Heat are dangerously close to moving up to 10th in the draft order, and if they end up in that slot, they keep their pick they owe to Philly, it would roll to next year, pushing the pick they owe us to 2018 at the earliest (if it's not protected again next year).

Interesting podcast with JJ Redick. He mentions PJ Tucker and Phoenix having players who play very physical. If interested in hearing only about the Suns part I think that's at about 11-12 minute mark and continues until about 16-17 minute or so.

Redick must hate playing his own team in practice, if he feels we are physical.

That was crazy, to have a thirty point swing in the second half. :o

Goran's stats with Miami are almost identical like his stats with Suns. He has 1 3PA less, 1 assist more and almost 2 FTA more (suprise!)
When did Isaiah Thomas joined the Heat? Do they also play Goran as SF?

Though I'm not a Hawks fan, I'm so angry at Thabo for what he did and to break his leg. Couldn't be more selfish than that.
They needed him for any hope to make a deep playoff run. I feel this just clears the way for a Cavs finals.

I know...I looked at the box score close to halftime and Miami was up by like 16, and then checked a half hour later and Chicago was up by 10. It was like 33-12 in the second qtr - Heat, and then 33-8, in the third - Bulls.

Miami has had some awful 3rd quarters lately.

Chicago looks ready for playoffs. Rose imo looks better in terms of athleticism and movement than he did before he got injured this season.

Actually I saw that too on the Heat board and it blew me away. Literally all of their fans love Dragic. I have watched several Heat games since the trade and idk what they are looking at. Dragic even admitted himself he does not feel right and is having a hard time. The team is 12-14 since he joined them. He is averaging 16.5 pts, 3.3 rbs, 5.3 asst, 1.2 stl, 50.7% fg, and 32.8% 3pts in 34.5 mpg with the Heat. To give a soon to be 29 year old averaging about 17 pts, 3 rbs, and 5 asst a complete max contract of 5 years, 108 million dollars is insane. He would be getting paid 38 million dollars more than Bledsoe. And Bledsoe is close to four years younger and has better statistics across the board than Dragic this year except for overall fg% and to. Not to mention but Bledsoe is an elite defender. I have no idea why Miami would want to commit 20+ million a year to Dragic even with the cap going up. And if Heat fans think he is tarnishing their tank, they why the hell did they trade for him this year? Why did they give up two great draft picks for him when they could have just signed him outright in the offseason. Makes no sense.

Realgm's new notification process really is something. I don't even need to know about how the Suns fans feel about Dragic on their own board and the issues they had with his exodus. But I still keep getting these notifications since I was quoted.

Goodness sake I was being sarcastic about the tank.

Next-season with Dragic/CB pick&Roll will be murderous.

That is all.

It's a good possibility, but if it isn't it will be murderous on your cap. :o Dragic by far was my favorite player on the Suns this season, until he screwed us, and basically didn't improve on any of his game like he said he would. its a possibility he could play as hard for the Heat as he does for his national team, but there is also a possibility he gives up a bit, and just plays an average game after getting a max deal.

Quick joke!

What part of Michael Jackson still plays in the NBA today for the Miami Heat?

Whether or not that is true remains to be seen. However I will say this. Dragic is the worst pick and roll point guard I have ever seen on the Suns. He hardly ever did it successfully. He could barely do it when the Suns had Amare and Amare is the best roller/finisher on the pick and roll maybe ever. I would much rather have Bledsoe on pick and roll any day. Even if Dragic plays well, he is nowhere near a max player. That is what shocks me the most. There is no way in hell he is worth 20+ million dollars a year in a league that is already overloaded with great point guards. Point guards who are about to turn 29 who average 16 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds with career averages of 12 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds and also have never been on an all star team in 7 years are a dime a dozen.

Return to Phoenix Suns
