Jordan hill for lance stephenson?

Would you guys do it? I definately would. We need a small forward/SG and weve seen that Lance can play good when he has the motivation. What better way to motivate someone than being on the NBA's most popular team with millions of people watching you? Stephenson played horrible this year so I don't see why the Hornets would object.

Not really, however, I'd love to somehow steal Indiana's lottery pick this year to help them get Lance back, I know during their talks with Cha, the issue was Indy didn't have a way to make contracts match-up and needed a 3rd party <insert troll face>
2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust

It's not good business to try and sign players who play well when "motivated"

Lance and clarkson basically do the same thing on offense, just that their methods are different and lance does it with less shooting and more turnovers.

Why would you want Stephenson? He's been slumping all year, is kind of a headcase, and wasn't even that good at this best, but now he gets paid more.

At least Jordan is good at the things he does, namely rebounding and getting injured.

No but seriously. I wouldn't personally do that trade at all. 9 mill for a perimeter player better be a pretty good player, and Stephenson was never really all that good. He could just kind of score on a team desperate for scoring.

To be fair if you were going to trade for Stephenson, now's the time. That 9 mil was considered a massive steal by even the most well regarded pundits at the time, and I'm sure many of them would bet on lance turning it around should he part ways with Charlotte for a team with more shooting via trade.

Ah, I thought it was a bad signing, and I never saw the appeal of him as a player. He has this "it's my time now" quality without recognizing that he's not even the most skilled player on his own team. Not a fan.

And pundits are wrong about as often as they're right; they're basically professional fans.

Anything other other than character that you didn't like about Lance? at the time of the signing, he was a 23 year old 2 way player who would be tasked with guarding Lebron on one end and bulldozing his way to the rim on the other. His long range shooting was decent and all the talk was about how far he'd come since the choke sign.

You are hell bent on trading players for players out of contracts aren't you?

His low BBIQ; I've never noticed more wasted movement on offense. The guy would dribble the clock down on the perimeter like he's at a park league, create nothing, and then pass to someone who then had to figure out how to jack up a shot before the buzzer went off. This was in the playoffs.

Even last year when he was having by far his best season, his PER was only 14.9....Face it, he's an average player at his best. His offensive rating this season is 85. His TS% .419--17.1% at 3....His PER 8.8...this is an epically bad season. IF he were anyone else and someone suggested trading for the exact same player, people would get flayed alive. Why touch him--why touch that contract? People are complaining about Jordan Hill's 2 year deal, so let's go grab a deadweight?

He was a hype player who by the eye test had some huge problems with his game. He was a clown, an embarrassment...why?

Sometimes when a dude's value is at rock bottom, it's for a reason. Mentally the guy is a wreck.

the only thing i like about lance is his potential... there is abundance of him with the same skillset in the league. minus the potential maybe. i wouldnt mind him to be honest. if he can keep his head on straight. but... him and young on the same team would be a disaster.

Optimistic? Why would you bother trading away the few assets we have for marginal talent...when we can sign them outright and keep our assets?

Monroe can't even lead a team to the playoffs in the East. What makes you think he's worth giving up any assets for if he's not willing to simply sign here himself?

I like Stephenson but i think we are going to need as many three point shooters to go along with Randle, Clarkson and Kobe, who are more post up, drive types, I don't view them as spot up shooter types. Besides, Lance needs the ball in his hands which also wouldn't be a good fit with that aforementioned three.

Lance too ball dominant, not good with KB, JC and Randle, need to put 3 and D players around those guys.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
