also its his 2nd season. he had a decent rookie year playing quite comfortably. but this year he played mostly out of position until recently.

he's not my favorite player or am i defending him, just trying to give some perspective that he's still a developing young player.

He has shot low 30s both years stop it with the "he'll get better at it stuff".....hes not good period just like wes will never live up to his draft position and expectations. I know hes not expected to be good at D either but his effort out there is a joke, hes not even trying...he makes luke walton look like leornard
i honestly dont care if we keep kelly or let him go once he's up. but point is. he is a stretch 4 no matter if you like it or not.

i dont get why you bring up wes. he's a first rounder and a bust. kelly was drafted second round 48th. uhhh what?

I bring up Wes as example of how certain players don't get better, they are what they are. Yes I'll go ahead and give him that "stretch 4" title but he's not a very good one then

Hopefully the Lakers keep their top 5 pick, land a few free agents, and in result Ryan Kelly can be at the end of the bench or street clothes. Nice player but nothing better than a 12th man on a playoff team.

Kelly getting significant PT this season is a testament to how horrible this roster is.

There's a reason he was drafted late. Plus he was used out of his comfort zone. Not sure why some are so bitter. He's actually playing good lately and the problem I'm seeing now is consistency.

I find his 1 dunk per game specials entertaining.

no, no one did but he's not even an adequate backup....his main role is a stretch 4, loose term at best. Any sloth like 6 10" dude with no athleticism would camp at the 3pt line to. 33% is actually quite terrible especially for someone who takes as many as he does per game. His D, well I can't even call it bad D because bad D would mean there's semblance of D, he doesn't even have that. I feel like the sucking and terrible roster has blinded some of you to the fact how terrible a player he really is.

we all know he sucks dude. like most young developing players. he'd probably end up in the dleague next year. who knows. so i really dont get what your point is.

Reminds me of Bargnani tbh. Good thing is it's his 2nd year only.

my point is, he shouldn't be on the team. He is here more likely due to lack of options. I've seen some say don't bring boozer back because we'll stunt Kellys growth, well he's not exactly "young" either, he was a senior when we drafted him. I think where is now is where he's gona be as far as talent goes, there's no more room to grow besides being a bit more on "consistent" from 3's.

He has 'above average handles' for his size. He uses his up fakes to drive or pull up. He goes coast to coast at times and finishes strong. I'm not sure why you only see his threes.

Luke was not that explosive but was effective with what he had. I can see a similar role.
