Why? If they lose and we win and get the 2 seed we won't face them. They can't fall to 7th

On Wednesday
Jazz @ Rox - 5pm
Spurs @ Pelicans - 5pm
Pacers @ Grizzlies - 6:30pm on ESPN

It's pretty much do or die, win or go home for both the Pacers and Pelicans. They can still possibly get in with losses, but only a win makes it a sure thing.

I don't know if I would rather have the Clippers lose against Phoenix and get the 5th seed rather than the 3rd seed to avoid playing the Grizzlies or possibly even the Spurs in the first round. Both of those teams scare me.

I'm not afraid of the Blazers or the Rockets though. But the odds of us having the Rockets as our first round opponent is less than the odds of us playing the Blazers if we just lose the Phoenix game and let the Spurs and Rockets win and surpass us. 3rd place would probably only give us HCA for the first round anyway

not holding my breath on Utah beating Houston.

SAS loss and Houston win = 3rd seed for us and 6th seed for Spurs.
Spurs win = Spurs auto 2nd.

we'd at least see them in the 2nd round.

My ideal situation is…Houston wins, Memphis loses again and SAS loses.

Houston gets the 2, we get the 3….SAS is 5…Memphis is 6.

Yeah, there's no scenario left where we get 2nd seed and the Spurs get 5th, is it? I'll be ok with any scenario where we are in a different bracket than the Spurs, if it's the same side as the Warriors so be it. Grizzlies don't scare me much either, they're banged up and not that great even when healthy. I think even the Spurs and Blazers could give us a harder time than them.

Whatever happens, I just wanna avoid the Spurs in the 1st round, that'd be a disaster and probably a waste of a season for a really talented team like we have.

might as well win tonight.
if we lose, we'd still be 3rd going against SAS at 6 if Pop decides to rest everybody.

so whatever.

not sure if i said that already or wolfed that in another thread.
but, sorry AD…I cannot pull for you on Wednesday.

I am rooting for the Pellies hard!! as well as the Pacers and Rockets, so we can avoid both the Spurs and the Warriors until the WCF at least. Maybe I'm getting too greedy but that's how I'm gonna approach tomorrow :D

My man.

Cheers to always hoping for the best.
I'll be right there cheering my ass off.

btw, don't forget. This means you have to cheer for Indiana tonight so they actually have something to play for tomorrow.

Kinda off topic from what we've been discussing but I've always thought the all-nba teams were voted by coaches? I just read they were voted by the media which means DJ might not make at least the all-nba 3rd team. If it was coaches he'd probably have a chance to make the 2nd team over Cousins.

That's not the current most likely scenario. If Spurs win, they are 2nd seed no matter what.

Spurs drop to 6th if they lose and Houston and Memphis win. If both them and Houston lose and Memphis wins, Spurs are back at 2nd again and Houston is 6th, lol. There's a small percentage change the Spurs get 6th, and it requires Houston and Memphis winning while the Spurs lose. Which gives Houston 56, Memphis 55, San Antonio 55.

If it happens though, we'll lament together then get ready for the fun

I don't have faith that Houston and Memphis will lose.

I'm penciling Houston in for a win.

I'll watch the Grizzlies and Spurs close….but I'm not penciling in a winner for anything in those games. The teams they're playing SHOULD give it everything to come away with victories.

Glad Indiana won. Hope they beat Memphis tomorrow night. I'd like to see them get that 8 seed and play Atlanta again.

Has there ever been a time before where the 1vs8 matchup was the same in back to back seasons, but the teams swapped spots?

Last year Indiana was 1 vs Atlanta 8. Indiana is 8 and Atlanta 1 if Indiana wins tomorrow. Kinda cool

Yeah, last night's double overtime hurts the Pacers chances of stealing this one in Memphis. Though Allen is out for tonight, Conley and Gasol are both questionable and I think no-neck fatty is also banged up, so hopefully they rest their starters. Or if they don't, hopefully they're even more banged up if/when we face them next weekend.

Go Pacers! Go Pellies! Go EJ and PG!

Rooting for Rockets and Pelicans tonight. From that chart above it would push Hous to the 2nd seed and leave the Spurs at the 5th. Unless I'm missing something.

Memphis would have the tie breaker over SAS.

if the two things you want to happen, happen…and Memphis wins

Clippers-SAS round 1.

Ideally you want the Rockets to win and for SAS and Memphis to lose.
That puts the Rockets in 2nd. Puts SAS in 5th and on a collision course with GSW and gives us Memphis in the 1st round. Houston i nteh 2nd round is a dream.

shutup Paul haters and Clipper haters in one of the easier series we've ever had as Clippers.
