LOL. YG is pretty good at that framing thing man.

let's hope he keeps working with the pitchers and Yeager and gets rid of those passed balls because he's a pretty good player.
I was very impressed with him going 1st to 3rd on Andre's single to right.

Im sure Grandal will improve on those passed balls, but even if he doesn't, I would rather have a 6-10 more passed balls of grandal over 200 strikes lost by AJ.
ehhhhh f it.

I didn't get all of it, but during the Dodgers broadcast, I caught some talk about him working on his passed balls with the announcing team pointing out the adjustments he's made in this game. Right on cue, he also threw out a baserunner trying to steal second, which is another one of his noted shortcomings.

It’s kind of interesting because of that,” Greinke said. “You’re paying attention to see what it’s going to be like. But, like I said, it’s been great. There was a little bit of a rumor, but he hasn’t shown anything but positives, not just to me. Every one of our pitchers has been impressed with him.

Greinke, again, full of praise for Grandal.
I'll take it.

Still wish Kershaw would work with him but hey, it's a scheduled off day (as you've said Ned) for YG, so cool.

Geinke is probably going out of his way to make those statements as public as possible because he never was a fan of AJ to begin with. so far, in two starts each of our aces with their own choice of catchers, AJ has shown his sloppy framing to be a detriment, extending opposing team's rallies and unable to adjust his game calling, letting the DBack's batting coaches had a field day of which pitches to look for after certain sequence of pitches Kershaw was pitching.

but more than anything, just what the hell kind of game managing is AJ doing that a ground ball pitcher like McCarthy is giving up a fly ball after fly ball?
ehhhhh f it.

Tie Game After 5 Innings

Yeah, what the heck is up with Brandon McCarthy tonight? Giving up 4 homeruns in 5 innings before Puig's dinger in the fifth. Maybe it's Ellis' fault, especially with Clayton Kershaw's struggles so far, but McCarthy has got to settle down. Our bullpen could use a break.

Scott Van Slyke making his dad proud on the Mariners bench by flashing that throwing arm.

like i've been saying for some time, I want Scott playing LF everyday. maybe Puig is going to third base next season with Scott going to RF with Guerrero moving to LF. Oliveras to 2nd and Seager at SS?

Broken Bat Breaks Mariners' Backs

Post#48 » by Ranma » Wed Apr 15, 2015 5:57 am

Howie Kendrick gets a broken-bat single in the bottom of the ninth to score 2 runs for another Dodgers come-from-behind walk-off victory in back-to-back games. Andre Ethier also homered earlier after Guerrero's dinger.

Carlos Frias is already sent back and I am looking forward to see Kershaw have a bounce back game where he simply dominates once again.

Off Topic- i was summoned for a jury duty this morning but was the first jury to be dismissed because i checked yes on their questionnaire #1) have you or your immediate family been a victim of crime? and #2)do you have a family member or a close friend who is a law enforcement officer.

the fastest way to get out of a jury duty in the state of Oregon, guys. Yay for my father in law getting stabbed by a robber and yay for my retired sheriff friend who is my go to fishing buddy.

I actually like Frias's stuff. I don't know if you guys remember. He had that awful start in Colorado last year and he never recovered mentally imo.

win #99 for Clay.
will be kinda happy when he gets #100. I think I've seen everyone of them. I think.

oh forgot to mention. Clay pitched to Grandal last night. So much for that personal catcher thing.

Yasiel back in the lineup tonight and lines out to Arenado.

after the two terrible outings for Kersh, he probably didn't have any excuses not to pair up with Grandal finally. the compromise was that there won't be any extreme defensive shift. I Fully expect him to return back to his personal catcher as soon as the leash gets loose.

Puig out of the lineup again.

his hammy must really be bothering him.
Hope it's not one of those things where he came to camp out of shape and overworked himself.

I knew he re-aggravated it the moment i saw him hobble after the last flyout to his direction in the ninth. good thing Andre is hitting well. the back half of the lineup minus AJ looks lethal today.

I wonder what it is exactly that Don Mattingly ever says to the umpires. he always comes up, makes a couple of sentences and nods his head and walks right back to the dugout. does he say, "hey guys, good call" and go back? does he ever argue about any calls? I miss Tommy kicking dirt and belly bump somebody before getting tossed out.

and BTW good to see the latter half of the lineup come through here, and of course AJ makes another predictable out.

Brett is going to need to learn a side step…or something that helps him come to the plate quicker. I know slide steps make some pitchers lose their stuff.

Brett came with that high leg kick and Aoki stole 2nd easy.

Pretty sure if Brett puts his right foot towards first that wouldn't have been a balk.
