Just a minor slump, he'll be fine.

Our best hope right now, is for the home crowd to be super loud and energize the players for the first 2 games. Because as of now, the playoff path isn't looking very friendly. It's going to be a struggle at best.

Well he has been generally garbage all season except probably a month or so prior to the All-star game. My guess is he decided to turn it up that time just so he could be voted into the all-star game.

You don't think he will do the same in playoff games?

Right, you don't have a clue

The drama queens are at it again. Tampons anyone? Dude took over while DD was out for 25(?) games, has been playing THROUGH injuries, they didn't just pop up suddenly, and he's been resting. Now he's playing again and some of you c-words throw him under the bus. Stop posting, you're embarrassing yourself.

Now is the time for unconditional, absolute support for all players - all the way down to Landry Fields.

We can reconvene after we are eliminated and play the blame game, but it does no use right now.

Can Lowry slow down Wall at all?

Can he cancel out Wall's production with his own play?

Lets see if he can control the tempo of the series in our favor.
On Gerald Henderson vs Derozan:
"Yes. Hendo is quite a bit better than DeMar.
So yes, I do believe he's currently the better player and do project that will continue to be in the future. I would also take Turner over DD."

this team went from being a a great 15 man unit that plays together to being all about the two best players. These two got a ton of praise for last season and it seems like they are treated like stars by the coaching staff because of it. They play hero ball, flat out. The reason there have been moments where they look atrocious is because they are trying to compete in roles that they arent good enough for. These guys are not superstars, we need to get back to our roots of last season. TEAM BALL. It really seems like the all star nods they got were the worst things to happen to this team. They forgot this is a team and they just want to do it themselves.

You don't have a clue either, you can't just say he'll magically hit all his shots just cause it's the playoffs, it takes time and he needs to get into a rhythm but historically speaking especially this season he hasn't been shooting that well and you also factor in the fact his defence has regressed this year as well. I've rarely see him take charges as much compared to seasons past.

Wow, over the top much? I don't think anyone here is hating on Lowry. He's helped this team and is our soul, no doubt. None of that takes away from the fact that over the course of the entire season, the only sample size that really matters, he's shooting 41% with a 52% TS and 25% USG. Being great for 2 months and sub-par for 4 isn't a desirable trait.

Hot shooting streaks are great. Sometimes they can last for over a month, but they always regress to the players natural mean over the course of a season. I enjoyed Lowry's 2-month streak as much as anyone, but I also enjoyed 13-game Bargnani's hot month. What sucks more than anything though is when the hot streak eventually ends, and guys keep chucking bad shots that were never sustainable at a reasonable efficiency over a large sample.

A bad shot is a bad shot, goes for any guy on the team. Lowry can be our savior, but it doesn't have to come from points. It can come from being a general, running the offense, attacking the paint, setting up guys for high % looks, playing smart tough defense. That's what I want. I don't want hero ball from anyone, including Lowry. We just don't need that, it makes us worse. We have guys that can hit open shots. Create those opportunities. That's his best chance to play god.

Well look at Jooe Johnson last year, everybody was talking mad sh*t about him for being selected an all star when Lance Stephenson or even Kyle Lowry were snubbed, but playoff time came around and he turned up on the Raptors big time. Why don't we all just support the Raptors and actually wait and see what happens in the playoffs before we start talking crap....

I love Lowry's heart but, I have to wonder how often he disrupts the teams offense and more importantly, the team defense by trying to make hero plays (going for steals, taking ill-advised charges, etc.)

I'm not worried about his scoring. We have enough scoring on this team to compensate and, for the most part, he knows when to rein it back in. Any playoff success will rest on how Lowry performs defensively and if he can stick to Casey's scheme.

TheDoctor wrote:I honestly think one of our goals tonight (last three, but especially tonight with no DeMar) was for Lowry to keep shooting until he hit any kind of rhythm from outside. Which he finally did after a really rough start. His rebounding, energy, and team D is there, passing OK with some good bursts, drive game solid, but we are much better if his shot is falling. I think we'll see much more normal shot selection and decision making from him come the weekend.

Funny that the OP had a hard time seeing that. He probably forgot that we are at the end of the season, Demar is resting, we are actually aiming for 4th and that Lowry just came back from injury. You could just tell that Lowry was shooting to get comfortable and get back in game shape for the playoffs.

It's like he completely broke his body playing hero ball while Demar was out.

Demar had a much more serious injury but has bounced back to in some ways even better than he was before.

Good shooters go through slumps. See Ray Allen in 2008. His shot started falling at the right time. Don't stress about Lowry - he will figure it out

It's obvious Casey is tanking for 4th. That's why he rested DeRozan and not the TANK commander Lowry.
