(Continued)....but at this point I'm so tired of arguing a case for him that I wouldn't mind trading him for a run of the mill PG as long as we finally upgrade the wing position with a 3pt threat that can score at least 15ppg or a scoring big that can put up at least 15ppg without stagnating our offense.

Yeah, I know, but you were leading the charge against him recently. Didn't expect to see you say you'd prefer to keep him.

I still say that we should trade him for the sake of our RealGM fanbase more than basketball reasons. That hasn't changed.

If we traded Kemba we'd lose half of our RealGM fanbase.

The same $12M?
$10M?
$8M?
less?

IT is a much better player though.
Kemba would probably get 6m a year imo.
Thomas' deal shows what "scoring" points are worth in this current climate for PG's.
jdm3 wrote:I do not know but if I were him whatever it was would not have been here. After two years without any sort of organized offensive flow under Clifford I would have taken a short deal somewhere else to have a chance to prove nobody can succeed under BRD.

maybe, but IT would've got more if he wasn't 5-8 or whatever height he is.

Why I am here in this thread again...LOL.
1) I don't think Kemba would get 12 mil this summer as a free agent. He would probably have to accept less money, perhaps on less years (he would probably want a shorter deal).
2) I agree he would probably also think hard about leaving for a team that better suited his strengths.
Further thinking about #2, would Kemba seek out a definite starting position or would he be OK in a timeshare, perhaps as a backup or 6th man? There aren't that many teams right now where Kemba would walk in an be a definite starter from day 1. Almost every team already has an established starting point guard they are happy with (and paying big money) or a young guy they are high on. Lucky for Kemba, one of the teams that needs a point guard is his hometown.
List of teams where he would start sooner than later
- Knicks
- Sixers
- Jazz (Exum can wait or play SG)
- Kings
- Nets (probably ready to move on from Deron. Worst case he splits time for a year then takes over)
- Lakers (if they move Clarkson over to SG)
- Houston (we've talked about this before, Beverley is a better fit next to Harden, but Kemba could probably take that job)
- Dallas (if Rondo leaves)
- Indiana (time share with George Hill)
- Chicago (just wait til Rose gets hurt again)

Lets do it. I like the Sixers and would be happy seeing him play there.

Kemba Walker
D'Angelo Russell (2015 Sixers pick)
Robert Covington
Nerlens Noel
Joel Embiid
...I love that starting lineup...
