I'm kinda bummed, GSW doesn't get a really hard matchup til likely the WCF. Though I don't know how they fared vs. Memphis.

Wow... the existence of divisions just screwed the clippers.

Really hard to pick against san an the way they're playing. Should be a great series, though.

SRS ranks of seeds 6-8 in east and 9-11 in west:

6 MIL - 16th
7 BOS - 19th
8 BKN - 24th (!)

9 OKC - 11th
10 PHX - 18th
11 UTH - 14th

That's flat out pathetic.

I love the Bucks though. They're a fun team to watch. Definitely the most interesting east team after Atlanta and Cleveland.

But yeah, agree with the general sentiment. Utah would be a cool playoff team.

I think the Pelicans will be more competitive against Golden State than most think. New Orleans length up front can give the Warriors real problems. Anthony Davis is a matchup nightmare against everyone, but that's especially true against the Warriors. If you plan to guard him with Draymond Green and give up that much length, it's no wonder Davis averaged 30 and 13 on 63% ts this season in 2 meetings that the teams split

I don't expect the Pelicans to win this series of course. I'm not even certain it gets past 5 (although I wouldn't be shocked if it did). Not all series that go 5 games are created equally though. If this does go merely 5, I expect a competitive 5. The type where it's 2-1 and they're playing a tight game 4 that the warriors find a way to pull out and avoid making things ultra interesting. There will be a moment in this series where the Pelicans look like a live underdog

I'm kinda bummed, GSW doesn't get a really hard matchup til likely the WCF. Though I don't know how they fared vs. Memphis.

99 Knicks vs 99 Heat? Sure the Knicks were bad in the regular season but they were the preseason favorite in the East along with Indiana to most people and in the playoffs they were obviously a great team. It's a stretch though.

And Golden State still might play Memphis. Never an easy out I think they've showed up enough in the postseason to be seen as a serious threat if they can get their big 3 to perform and one of Lee or Green play their hearts out/Vince somehow plays like he did last season after stinking all year.

True, I'm still hoping there's some competition, which there usually is in.the west. And there are a few teams that interest me in the east too. Weird that I'm not stressed at at these playoffs!

I'm watching an anniversary edition of Shaqtin' a Fool:

http://allball.blogs.nba.com/2015/04/17 ... ef:nbahppt

Funny stuff. But Gawd.....Javale McGee; he's like the All-Star of Shaqtin' a Fool, year after year.
What a waste of physical talent. Seriously, he's got all the physical tools of a Tyson Chandler (if not better). But no heart or effort, no discipline, no focus, no bball IQ. As someone who tried to make the most of the limited physical "gifts" I had, Javale irritates me.

I hope Pierce isn't seriously hurt, I'm enjoying him shutting Toronto up.

Reggie Miller quotes from last night's broadcast:

On Blake Griffin: "He's gonna have to use all his skillset levels to raise his level of play"

On Chris Paul vs. Tony Parker: "Almost a wash"

On ball movement: "Let's not forget both these teams move the ball extremely well to one another"

Sheesh, they really don't ever call traveling in the NBA, do they? Mirotic traveled twice (pretty easy for me to spot even at game-speed) in the last minute of the 1st half.....neither one called. That'd be like a 4-pt turnaround (would take away two scores).

How likely is it that Thibodeau is the next coach of the Thunder? Would you trade your #1 to the Bulls for him if you're Presti?

No-brainer for me it that's what it takes to get Thibs. The only condition I would have for him is that KD and RW should not play more than 36-37 MPG .

I'm not feeling that they're already injury prone guys as of late.
