Nets/ORL PG: Bogey leads the way

Post#221 » by Zachbretton » Thu Apr 16, 2015 4:31 am

I cannot believe we just free fell into the playoffs, but I'll take it.

Happy Hawks don't get gift wrapped a lottery pick, happy we give ourselves a chance to steal a game.

Just happy to be in the post season.

I don't care how it goes, Hawks are an amazing team and it will be a fun series no matter what.

3 years in Brooklyn, 3 years in the Playoffs... That's what matters to me right now

I admit I am super pissed that we weren't gifted a lotto pick by you guys but I can't complain to much going from the 29th pick to the 15th pick :D

Btw, I read all of the rants by prok saying how beooklyn would be blown out of the water by Orlando by like 20+. Dude was basically ready to bet his life on it. So where is he now?

Thanks for being a classy Hawks fan. It will be fun to have a playoff series with mature fans instead of those whiny children up "north".

Eh, I think at this point its clear to everyone how badly this has been screwed up.

You don't necessarily have to crash your car to learn your lesson not to drink and drive. Sometimes, its enough to doze off, spin out of control and find yourself on the side of the road to realize "$!!! I shouldn't be doing this".

I think that's how everyone involved with this franchise feels right now. They're all sitting there wiping the sweat off their foreheads while thinking "Whew, dodged the bullet on that one"

Agreed. Believe it or not, we just joined the Hawks and Bulls as only teams to make it to the postseason three years in a row.

Building a model of consistency and getting more postseason experience for Brook, Bojan, Markel, Mase is the only thing to celebrate. We all know these other overpaid vets are a lost cause. Atleast, we have a resume of playoff appearances to smooth out the ugly draft pick scenario.

Bogey since the All-Star break
27 games 25,7 mpg 11,6 ppg 50.8% FG 43.8% 3FG

If he can sustain that kind of production with a bit higher usage rate next season, we have found a terrific 6th man on a bargain contract.

I was super hammered last night... followed the game on the phone:

- halftime score, typical
- third Q, mehhhh
- Final, wow
- Grizzles somewhere in 2nd half, oh its a tease
- Grizz final, wtf happen?
- Saw PG injured, ohhhh

I think i'm still drunk at work though....

but yay?

OT - Congrats to pelicans

It wasn't meant to be for the Thunder, injuries all around. This "rest" is perhaps good for them. Especially for a high energy player like Westbrook... they've been going at it for a long time, deep playoff runs too. They could use the rest now and recoup for next year's run.

He has definitely embraced the 6th man role, but I think he can be similar to Klay Thompson how he is used if our players find him more for quick shots. His defense his improved throughout the season.

yup, well put. we know the ugly truth, but there is some solace in looking on paper and saying we made 3 straight playoffs which is worth something. playoffs are exciting, i get up for it and i always appreciate it after so many 4-5 year droughts over the past 4 decades.

im not holding my breath, but who knows, maybe something happens and we get lucky vs atlanta or our guys play out of their minds. gotta be in it to have a chance and im glad we are in!

lol i had a similar experience. i had a basketball game last night so i had to leave midway through the second quarter. got alerts at halftime down ... ok not bad, then tied or whatever after 3, not bad. then the final alert... was terrified to check but thrilled when i saw a big win... came home and rewatched it on the DVR. glad i didnt watch it live, my blood would have oiled when we went down 10 or 12 in the 3rd.

Excited to see anthony davis in the playoffs.... he went insane last night vs the spurs. love seeing a guy with his back against the wall come out and dominate like that.

i know the pipe dream is durant, but for me id love to get AD in a nets uniform. i think there is a small chance if calapari comes here.

"fell for"

This would indicate it was some sort of sham. We won, and im pumped as hell we did. But please dont sit there like we came out and kicked their doors in and had some dominant win that was never in question.

We came out just as sluggish and disinterested as the prior 2 games. We got down early. we didnt really claw back. We were down 12 points midway through the 3rd quarter. none of the "big 3" played well.

It took a herculean effort from bogdanovic for us to pull that win out. I guess I didnt see our euro rookie going for a career high coming. I also though Orlando would be out there trying to play spoiler and be super up for the game. which didnt happen

I meant it in a joking way. It was a pretty bad game. So much sloppiness, it's so bizarre how this team doesn't seem to ever have any urgency to their game in these important situations... and going pretty much as you envisioned it would be, with one or two times getting the vibe that the game was about to get out of hand. Considering none of the "big three" really had a great game, it's almost a mystery how you won it comfortably in the end. More than Bogdanovic exploding, it was the Magic collapsing, not knowing how to finish games, but I guess some credit is due to a higher defensive intensity from the Nets.

Bogdanovic........... I love the guy. Just wish he showed more emotion or rather, attacked harder. The way his face is the same whether he is 1/12 or 10/13 is cool. The way he shoots barely getting off the ground is special. Has a good old man game.

Nah, not even...Nets were -9, Orlando has played the Nets close all year long and the Nets have looked putrid, I didn't think the Nets would win by double digits.
