I want Casey to succeed by reaching as far as conference final, so that at least people will give respect he deserves as coach and Masai will give Casey the players he needs to make this team even better this offseason ...

If you want to know where your team is at, you gotta play against another team that is at least at your level or higher. Beating an inferior team like the Bucks wouldn't tell us anything about the Raptors. Cavs and Bulls are clearly much better teams. But then that next tier in the East is Washington and Toronto. Very good match up here.

I will hold Masai to his words.

What does beating the Wiz in 7 and losing to the Hawks in 5 tell us though?

I think we already know what this team is. A 48-52 win team in the East, that may win a round, that's a star player away from joining the very elite teams.

Thats a terrible answer by Masai!

If you cant see the shortcomings of this team already and you need the playoffs to decide FOR you.. why are you even here?

instead of the We the North chant,we go with "we are it"

and whenever Pierce touches the ball we chant. PeePee's his pants

Lol what? You can't possibly believe that he doesn't see things as they are. If we get the the eastern conference finals, than you know what? We're a pretty good team that again needs more minor tweaks than an over-haul. If we get knocked out in the 1st round, than we need a complete make-over.

That's not a stupid statement. But regardless, some changes will be made. It's like you've never heard an executive speak. Why would he say anything else but something along the lines of that we control our own destiny.

I don't understand why so many people are fearful that Masai is blind and will do something awful in the off-season.

Certainly if this team is swept by the Wizards, more sweeping changes will be made compared to a team that lost in the 7th game of the Finals. That being said I think its safe to say he realizes the faults of this team. He is giving this incarnation a chance to prove him wrong

Im assuming he expects some sort of improvement, so thats the second round. Seems like a win-win. We move on, we get to see more playoff basketball, we dont, and changes are made.

Masai will rob Pierce and Washington through some Nigerian scam and then say what he wants to say to get fined, he's a boss like that.

We really don't want this team going deep in the playoffs. Wizards in 6 games would be ideal. Win a couple home games.

Return to Toronto Raptors
