Re: ESPN Britt McHenry. Another smug, arrogant, cocky DC area transplant shows everyone her true colors.
So let's recap:
1. No matter what she does from here on out, she'll always be known for this. She's only 28.
2. She's smoking hot, so to say she got her start b/c of her education now calls into question how good she really is. Already read comments that she's on TV b/c she has a pretty face.
So basically her credibility is **** at this point.

But at least those others actually contribute to the board.
WTA OTOH, disappears for months and when he does reappear it's to whine about yuppies, gentrification etc.
To a certain extent I understand where he's coming from but how many times can you say the same thing?
He hates D.C.. We get it.
I would expect that someone posting on a Wizards board would occasionally want to discuss the team.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

But does that take into account the pace of your posts (i.e. - long threads where you post a lot versus short threads where you post only a little)? Are we able to track pace-adjusted BPPT (Bogus Posts Per Thread)?

Oh, and I always assume that most TV personalities are self-centered jerks so I'm not surprised she said what she said. But how incredibly stupid is Britt McHenry? She was told to be careful because she was on video. As someone in the new media she should have known that video would get out.
Her "apology" also wasn't very good, either. She's gotta be careful here if she still wants to have a serious career. I could absolutely see her going from rising sports reporter to having a couple of reality TV shows as she devolves into blending in with the "famous just for being famous" crowd.

WTA just misses the good old days when you had to go to the suburbs for a Bullets/Wizards game.

I actually met Britt at Redskins Training Camp once. She was pretty cool, and is a good reporter. She wasn't even bothered by my friend hitting on her.
I don't judge people and I'm not gonna judge her after one bad moment. We've all lost our cool and said something dumb that we regretted immediately. But a week long suspension is fine. People saying she should get fired are just being dumb.

If this humbles her it is a good thing. She is only 28 years old.
The ridicule she is going to receive from hate Tweets, emails, blogs etc will be tremendous. She's through at ESPN. This suspension is a precursor to no new contract IMO. Her coworkers are going to shun her--save for the ones who want to get into her pants.
(Or, she will be taken care of by the same bosses her put her there).
She could be so stuck on herself that she doesn't have any conscience, but I doubt it. This will probably cause her a great deal of grief.
She earned it.
It is rare that a mean-spirited person, particularly an attractive woman, gets busted.
A lesson in all of this is looks can be deceiving.

There's never an excuse for that kind of outburst (bad day, she was just angry, we all make mistakes, she's only 28). It was a terrible, mean thing to say and now she's paying the piper.

I'm with you. It's alright to be pissed at the government for towing your car, costing you money and making life inconvenient for you. But there's no excuse for the way she insulted and verbally abused that attendant.
If McHenry had any class, instead of apologizing on "twitter," she'd go back and personally apologize to that woman.

Towing companies are jerks, and we're not hearing the whole tape. Still, not good to make those insults although I wonder if there is a double standard and if a guy had said those things, would it have generated the same kind of outrage.

That was cringeworthy, you can't apologize something like that away...

had an experience similar 2 hers, and gotta say it took some will power to keep cool. she let it get to her and shows she's thin-skinned, but its not a disaster imo

I think if some pretty boy media celebrity made similar comments, he would probably face a far different wrath than she is facing, because on top of looking like an entitled and narcissistic a-hole, he would be a man demeaning a women in the extreme, and that might pull in a wide range of groups, from women's rights groups to conservative Christian groups, all denouncing such treatment of women. His career might really be over, unless he became a shock jock.
I imagine some towing companies are run by jerks and employ jerks, but I've known a few, and I'm guessing that most are just performing a service, removing cars parked where they shouldn't be. I've been towed three times in my life. It sucked each time, but in each case I had fair notice. My wife had her car towed once, and they were supposed to tow the car in front of her. I'm sure unfair or unlawful towing exists, but I'm inclined to think that many people who go ballistic over towing are the same ones who go ballistic over getting an automated ticket from a traffic camera, completely divorcing their own behavior and any accountability for that behavior from the equation.
I never heard of this woman before the recent and earth shaking event, but things seem to be piling on her now. Based on her sorry ass "apology," I think it will get worse for her before it gets better. Everyone in her past that she treated like **** is happy now to offer valuable context:

.
I really HATE to defend someone who is as internally unattractive, self-centered, and mean-spirited as Ms. McHenry.
Or, perhaps because she is, apparently, all of those things, that I need to defend her.
Hell yeah, MeHenry grossly violates the "waiter rule". She has enough of a history for one to conclude that she's just an egocentric jerk. But one thing that bothers me a lot is the growing trend to demonize people for private behavior. The presence of so many mobile phone cameras (I get that his isn't necessarily the case here) and closed circuit cams has made private moments less...well, private.
I get that ESPN is an entity where the public faces of its company are where the bread is buttered. So any public face who could give the company a black eye needs to be held to some sort of standard. But where is the line?
Will there be a day in the future where some dude sees you coming out of a club late at night, drunk as all get-go, and tongue-kissing the worst looking cross-dresser in town. Dude whips out his iPhone and records you. It gets posted to YouTube, goes viral, and your boss, who's merely the lead accountant or plumber or chemist in a company, fires you for it. Even if your private acts have nothing to do with your job.
Ubiquitous cameras have changed our daily lives. We need to develop some consensus about what that means in terms of our privacy and how we all react to private behavior. IMO, private behavior is just that. Private. I don't need/want to get involved in someone else's private life.

True, I probably should have generalized all towers as jerks. But there is now a new line of predatory towers in Montgomery County (and I recently heard story of the trend still going on this past Friday). http://wtop.com/news/2014/02/towing-com ... lot-video/
But yeah, it looks like McHenry should at least try to treat people like they are human beings- saying someone has missing teeth isn't probably the way to go.

Wow that was pretty bad. In the beginning the worker even told her that she was on video and she still goes off.
Just yesterday i was reading an interview with Greg Norman. He said that when he is in public he always has to keep in mind to be pleasant even when he doesnt feel like it. Especially in the social media age you have to accept there are no private moments when you are in public.

Bingo! Entitled, narcissistic A-hole. A narcissist is incapable of a real apology because they lack empathy.
I am uncomfortable with the idea of policing private thoughts and expressions, but if you have this kind of position and you behave this way after being warned, then I have zero sympathy for this bitch.
