I will never understand how this guy was allowed to stunt the development of our 2nd overall pick the way he has. MKG shouldve been playing 30 minutes a game, shooting about 1000 jumpers a day, developing a mid range shot (like a floater) and in the weight room to prepare himself for his aggressive style of play. Instead we put him in a 3-4 year off season regime trying to teach him to shoot a new form, but now his teacher is leaving him in the middle of the process for another gig :nonono: .

I also now question why we refuse to play Biz at power forward, the guy is only 6'8, he's too small to compete with most centers! Our whole coaching and developmental staff is terrible in my opinion.

This is clearly true. Cliff is not a developer. He stunts it in favor of putting his guys out that can play together now, no matter how bad that may be. Noah is raw but he would have benefited from regular minutes. This team thought they were ready to take a next step, but it became a couple of steps back.

Bass, I dont wanna beat a dead horse, but I think a case could also be made that had we played the young guys more, not only would they be more developed, but they would make our team better. We know how not playing MKG late has hurt us in some games, but what if we played Vonleh in some of those games where our bigs were abused for lack of size? Was he really not ready to provide anything for us? I just dont know man.

I'm about as positive as I can be that this is true.

If true and both are done for the season, MKG has 55 games played this season and Cody has 62.

Damn, 55 is a low number. This is a lost season (not counting obvious rebuilding teams) if I've ever seen one. Literally every player that was even marginally important to us has missed a huge chunk of time. MKG, Kemba, Biz, Al, Lance, Zeller. Then we have Hendo who racked up some DNPCDs due to his preseason injury, and we didn't get Mo Williams till midseason. Theoretically, that should've been our top 8 and I don't think any of them have played 70 games(correct me if I'm wrong)

So we're tanking then? Smart move considering how brutal our luck has been this season. Might as well make the most of it and open up some opportunities in the draft.

This **** sucks though, damn...

Work hard in the offseason guys, the Hornets faithful are behind you!

BitterSweet Post. Let me start on the Sweet Side: I want to Thank The Man Above for Blessing Me with an amazing Gift. There isn't one day I take for granted. Secondly I Appreciate the Hornets Fans for sticking with us during this season.
Bitter: There is Definitely a Chip on my shoulder going into this Off Season, and not being in postseason contention.. But better days are ahead #BuzzCity

would be huge if he can add a corner 3 this offseason. if he can hit threes even at 30% it really opens up his game.

I agree. Could open up a lot of cuts and baseline drives for him. Do you think Price could still be willing to work with him in the offseason?

I didn't see anything but

Before the last injury, he was shooting them and making a nice clip of them in warm ups before the games.

MKG could shoot 25% from 3 for all I care as long as he start shooting from there and making defenses have to step out.

He's gotta hit at a lot higher rate than that before defenses bother guarding him on the perimeter.

25% or 1 out of every 4 is a start. That's PJ numbers lol.

PJ has a reputation as a shooter though. MKG has to prove he's worth guarding, or they'll ignore him on the perimeter like they ignored Lance this season.

I'll take 25% for starters but hopefully he shoot better than that considering how open he'll be on 3s when he finally start shooting them.

Bonnell didn't vote for MKG on all defensive team. So much for that.

Curious to know, who did he vote?

Curious to know, who did he vote?

MVP

1. Curry, 2. Harden, 3. James, 4. Russell Westbrook, 5. Anthony Davis.

Reasoning: You could name LeBron James MVP every season and feel good about the call. But I think Curry and Harden were more responsible for their team’s success this season.

All-NBA

First team: Curry, Harden, James, Davis, Pau Gasol

Second team: Westbrook, Chris Paul, LaMarcus Aldridge, Blake Griffin, Marc Gasol

Third team: Klay Thompson, John Wall, Paul Millsap, Tim Duncan, DeMarcus Cousins

Reasoning: The NBA still requires voters to pick two guards, two forwards and a center for each team. I lean toward team success on close calls, which gave the nod to Duncan over Utah Jazz forward Gordon Hayward. Third-team center Cousins’ numbers were too good to disregard even on a bad Kings team.

Coach of the Year

1. Mike Budenholzer, 2. Steve Kerr, 3. Brad Stevens

Reasoning: Budenholzer’s Hawks were supposed to be marginal to reach the playoffs this season and they clinched the Eastern Conference’s top seed weeks before the end of the regular season. Kerr had a spectacular season for a rookie coach. Stevens overcame a season of roster churn (22 players appeared in games) to get the Celtics into the playoffs.

Defensive Player of the Year

1. Kawhi Leonard, 2. Marc Gasol, 3. DeAndre Jordan

Reasoning: The choices were abundant. I just as easily could have voted for Chicago’s Jimmy Butler or New Orleans’ Anthony Davis. Leonard has been crucial to the Spurs, injecting youth, athleticism and intensity into an aging team.

Most Improved Player

1. Butler, 2. Draymond Green, 3. Rudy Gobert

Reasoning: Butler’s improved play at the offensive end was a huge factor in the Bulls surviving another Derrick Rose injury. Golden State’s Green is an elite defender shooting 42 percent from 3-point range. Utah’s Gobert is going to be an elite rim-protector.

Sixth Man

1. Louis Williams, 2. Isaiah Thomas, 3. Jamal Crawford

Reasoning: After stops in Philadelphia and Atlanta, Williams has found a home in Toronto, embracing this reserve role. Thomas changed the Celtics’ season after the trade deadline, taking over fourth quarters.

Rookie of the Year

1. Andrew Wiggins, 2. Nikola Mirotic, 3. Nerlens Noel

Reasoning: Minnesota’s Wiggins led all rookies in scoring (16.9 per game) by a wide margin. Chicago’s Mirotic was a major contributor on a playoff team. Philadelphia’s Noel is top-10 in the NBA in blocks and steals.

All-Defensive team

First team: Leonard, Marc Gasol, Jordan, Butler, Green

Second team: Anthony Davis, Tony Allen, James, Paul, Serge Ibaka

Reasoning; Charlotte Hornet Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is now in the discussion for one of these teams. His time will come.

All-Rookie team

First team: Wiggins, Mirotic, Noel, Elfrid Payton, Zach LaVine

Second team: Boj Bogdanovic, Rodney Hood, Jordan Clarkson, Marcus Smart, Jusuf Nurkic

Reasoning: Bogdanovic and Smart get extra credit for contributing to playoff teams. Hood excelled in the second half of the season.

Jimmy Butler wasn't even that good defensively this year. MKG was much better. I don't think Butler should even make all-defense 2nd team nevermind 1st team.

He'll make it based solely on reputation. Him taking on a much bigger burden on the offensive end took away a ton from his defense. That and Thibodeau plays him way too many minutes
