Guys, if Casey just doesn't over think and our team plays a decent game, we'll win in 6 games guaranteed, if some guys step up more than usual then 5 games.

Well, unless there is a major collapse on the Clippers part, the Raptors are the only home team who lost.

I totally agree. We needed this game.

It wasn't the fact that we lost, it was how we lost. This team can't use it's "young and inexperienced" excuses. They had a highly competitive 7 game series last year, and against a vet heavy (missing their 20/10 center) lower seed team. They should've been better prepared, especially having home court advantage again. We didn't play with any heart until our backs were against the wall. The biggest issue is the fact that the Wizard's offense wasn't that great either. They won with something they are known for: Rebounding and Defense. Those are things that will always be there for them. Our offense might get hot and keep us in a games, but we will have lapses. we always do.

I originally said the Raptors in 7 because I figured they would play with a lot of heart and prove that they learned something from last year. That was with me thinking this wasn't a good match up to begin with. It definitely wasn't the one I wanted. Based on what I saw, I think it will be the Wizards in 7. Our offense might take us to 7, but it can definitely lose us a game or two (just like it did on Saturday.)

I totally understand what you're saying. However, I do feel that we cannot discount the fact that other than the "thousand idiots" we've seen players, namely Chuck Hayes, as of late who have shown their concern and agreement with the sentiment of the fans.

I do not consider myself smarter than, or in a better position to judge personnel then Masai Ujiri - however, as a fan, and as a member of the greater society, I've seen that many times change does not happen unless attention is brought to the problem. My comments on the "Fire Casey!" chants were probably more out of frustration than rational thinking, but I would not be opposed to the attention that such chants would bring. The chances of Ujiri listening to a bunch of fans and not doing his due diligence before taking any actions are slim to none. After all, this organization is a business - and sometimes when the money is being raked - management may not see any reason to shake things up. My hope is, perhaps by showing the way we feel - at the very least we can see some sort of result.

Just my opinion.

Chuck Hayes pfft! That concerns me in that, if he's lost Hayes's confidence, there may be others. And as much criticism as Casey gets here, no one has suggested a good alternative, so who knows what his replacement will be like? But would I take Hayes judgment over the professional NBA coaches who have endorsed Casey? No. I think most of the people who criticize Casey are basketball failures who are well known to criticize more than praise. It's just in the nature of the modern sports fan to want to appear more knowledgeable and that means criticizing someone. The coach is an easy target. If anyone here even knows what coaching Casey does outside the 48 minutes they watch a couple of times a week, by all means, raise your hands. I'd love to hear what else he does wrong besides not playing the players you think he should play.

You make good points. I don't know of any alternative off the top of my head - I know it's impossible but I'd love to keep Casey as an assistant coach and have a coach that can draw plays and effectively manage rotations. I know that's vague - but hey, I'm not the GM, I just call it the way I see it. You're absolutely right that it's easy to criticize and blame the coach, heck I see spurs fans frustrated with Pops all the time. I'm just hear expressing my opinion from the comfort of my armchair. From this view there are certain things that I can say for sure - for a defensive coach, Casey's team has regressed significantly and is currently bottom 10. Our offense is spontaneous and ISO heavy. I personally feel, through watching many teams over the last couple of decades, that this type of coaching has never resulted in sustainable success.

Yet the team gets better every single year under him. Maybe it's the superstars we have.

It dawned on me while watching all these other playoff games, it doesn't matter if James Johnson, Chuck Hayes, Tyler Hansbrough, Lou Williams, Greivis Vasquez or whoever needs to play for us to win, it's the fact that we NEED them to play for us to be successful. Every other team has been going to their starting 5 to win the game. You might see a team go to their 6th man, but it's mostly all the teams relying on their top 5. You need your top 5 players being able to play in the clutch, this team doesn't have that. For whatever reason, be it coaching or player talent, we just don't

I said before this series that we'll lose in 6 if Ross continues to fail to show up on offense. We need his shooting badly.

I see Randy Whittman gets an extra day off to figure out what way his clipboard goes.

At this point, I'm quite enjoying the coaching battle between dumb and dumber.

I honestly did not expect Casey to out dumb Wittman. At least Wittman treated the game like a playoff game by doing something he normally doesn't do (small ball).

Casey on the other hand used treated game 1 like another regular season game with the same crap against every opponent. (ISOs, and no defensive adjustments)

Casey's one and only problem is that he allows the opponent to dictate his game. He reacts to what the other team does as opposed to putting his best team out there and forcing the other team to react to us.

Matt and Jack kept going off on how we could not secure a rebound.. Well, yeah, with Lou, GV, and Kyle, a perimeter based PP, it just ain't going to happen. Hands, JV, and JJ for toughness are our best inside presence. We don't need to "spread the floor" with PPAT because he ain't been making them. Ross is abysmal. Lowry hasn't hit a three since February. Our best 3 point threat is Lou and GV.

Our end of game lineup on offense should be Kyle, Lou, DD, Amir, JV.

On defense if we can play the possession game: Kyle, DD, JJ, PPat, Amir (maybe Hands in for PPat).

Wittman didn't play small ball because we overplayed their guards which resulted in easy dunks, layups and put backs for their bigmen. He didn't do anything because Casey's dumb ass coaching just helped him out.

The good news is, the Raps played as poorly as they possible could and still almost won game 1.

Raps win the next two games.

if they just have grab 5 of the 19 off rebounds the Wiz got, it would have been a 6-10 point win for the Raps.

This is going to game 7. That loss in game 1 is huge and makes tomorrow a most win game.
