The Wizards have regained home court advantage over the Raptors and are seeking two in a row on the road at the hostile ACC (so called loudest fans of the NBA). Hopefully this game isn't as ugly as the first against Canada's best.

Thanks for the thread, evolushunize!

(I admit, I love poutine too.) I'm bummed that the Eat Wonky food truck, which used to sell Poutine, got sold.

Go Wizards!

Wish there was a local spot in DC that served this. Regular cheese fries ain't the same. Probably some of the best I ever had was in Montreal.

Hopefully Beal and Wall remember how to shoot.

One key thing I heard in the presser: Wittman said he was looked at the tape and realized how easy the team was running in transition, but that they didn't do it enough. Toronto's players don't get back on defense, Wall is gonna look to exploit that all game and we know he can start a break even on a made basket.

It seems Raps fans are mostly worried about Pierce going off. Pierce was just the hero of game 1, but look for Wall and Gortat to start exploiting their PnR defense and if Beal gets hot from three... Pierce won't even need to be a factor the rest of the series

Well, we need Beal to show-up as a shooter, John is never going to be a scoring PG.

I don't expect him to start lighting it up like Stephen Curry, but 5-18 is unacceptable. That goes double for "pure stroke" Beal.

why do people always say this? He has showed many times that he can do both and he would do it full time with stretch 4 or in a better system. At some point soon he will find his rhythm again and when he does, I will bet anyone that he averages an efficient 20 for the rest of the playoffs even if we go to the finals while still assisting great. I think he may get the biggest boost in the league from these playoffs and willl have monster games against Lowry, Teague, Irving. Everyone is down on him because we are never on tv so all they know is last years playoffs combined with these two brutal indy and raps game but he will flip that real soon. Tor, atl, cle are made for his game especially witt stays spacing the court. He willl put up mega numbersif

At what point do we hold Wall accountable for not being aggressive enough in the half court and stop putting it on Randy playing two bigs? I get it, having an extra shooter out there creates driving lanes for the guards. But we went to a smaller lineup for virtually the last 3 quarters of game 1 and he was still playing passive and settling for jumpers. It just boggles my ming that a guy with his combination of size and speed constantly shies away from attacking the basket.

One thing I noticed man is that Wall was shredding them when he got out and ran and he passed a lot of times I saw he could have easily finished the drive all the way to the bucket. Wall does some crazy insane passes, the dude is nice.

So this is what I see in the series man that should be of concern to Toronto and benefit to Washington:

Washington took control of the game after the 1st Quarter on, they basically controlled the game the rest of the way and dominated being up by 15 points at one point into the 4th Quarter. Then Toronto makes a crazy comeback like a lot of home teams do, then the game goes to OT. Then what happens? Washington dominates them again in OT and Toronto only scores 4 points, and Washington wins, goes up 1-0. To me that's a very telling sign, that Washington dominated play for most of the game, then even when the game went to OT, Washington dominated again. You'd think that when the game went to OT that it would have been a close ending? Nope! If i'm a Toronto fan that would definitely make me feel uneasy their chances in this series.

They played Nene/Gortat or Gooden at PF for all but 1/2 the 2nd quarter in the first half and all the 3rd. It wasn't until into the 4th when they went small for most the 4th and then again in OT.

I knew this was going to happen. John is not a scoring type of PG like Curry and Irving etc, that doesn't mean that he isn't going to get buckets sometimes, often in transition.

Playoff Basketball.... Gotta love it.

This is a huge game for the Wizards. Win this one, and the series is way more lightly to be a short one in their favor.

Toronto knows that, so they will come out like a wounded animal. They know they need this one.

For all Randy's faults, he does preach knowing the game situation. Paul clearly can communicate that as well. I expect the Wizards to know this. They experienced the same thing last year in CHI. They can draw on that experience to help them prepare and get through this one.

If they win this one, that will be huge for them.

And if things do play out well for the Wizards, gaining this playoff S4 experience against TOR would be a good warm up for ATL. But for them to stand a chance in that series, they have a lot of work to do. Wall, Beal, Otto, Gortat. They all have to play a lot better.

Makes me wonder if a short series against TOR would even be in their best interest. It might be better for them if it went 6 so they have more time to tune things up. Because against ATL, there is almost room for error. They will burn you if you blink. Right now I would have ATL in 5. Wizards have a lot of work to do if they want to change those odds.

LOL the Craptors fans seem to be starting away from our game thread this time. Sure they'll be back if they win a game.

Fancy Stats
The Wizards should continue to go small, use Paul Pierce at power forward against the Raptors
