D.C. United is keeping this interesting, but they are running out of time.

Montreal is now the only MLS team left in Champions League. No one could have predicted that after the season they had in MLS.

Herediano with a 3-0 lead in the opening leg. Crazy with America being clear favorites to win this all. Montreal, all eyes on you tomorrow. Super exciting stuff if you ask me!

Wild game last night, let's hope that exciting action continues tonight too.

If you are a fan of MLS, you should be cheering on Montreal tonight.

Montreal Impact aim to become fifth MLS team to reach CONCACAF Champions League final

The Montreal Impact can take a major step toward making some history on Wednesday night.

The Canadian side is getting set to take on Alajuelense at Olympic Stadium (8 pm ET, Fox Sports 2) in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League semifinal series knowing that a victory (by as large a margin of goals as possible) would set them up nicely for the second leg on April 7 in Costa Rica.

In the process, the Impact hope to become the first Canadian side ever to qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League final.

Since the start of MLS in 1996, a total of 18 MLS sides have reached the semifinal stage of the Champions League (or Champions Cup). But only four of those 18 teams were able to overcome the semifinal hurdle and make it to the final.

The Impact will attempt to become the fifth MLS team to accomplish the feat, four years after Real Salt Lake, who were the last MLS club to do it. In the 2010-'11 edition of the tournament, RSL downed Saprissa 3-2 on aggregate to advance to an epic final series against Mexican giants Monterrey.

Here we go!

Can't wait for the game tonight. Can Montreal make history? And how upset will MLS be if they do?

You have to admit, they are not the most marketable team for MLS.

Hair pulling? Montreal is such a dirty team.

It's hard to cheer for them.

Now don't embarrass Canada and MLS in the Final.

Wow America...

Felt pretty good about Montreal against Herdiano but now vs America I worry a little bit.

I can't stand Club America... I don't want to see them win at all

Montreal has a chance if they only lose by one in Mexico, especially if they score. Coming home down 2-1 for example would be amazing for Montreal.

I am giving them no chance to win in Mexico, and only a slight chance at a tie.

I just want the second leg to be interesting.

Montreal Impact confirm sell-out at Olympic Stadium for second leg of final

The Big O will officially be packed.

Montreal Impact executive vice-president of soccer operations and Stade Saputo Richard Legendre confirmed Tuesday afternoon that tickets have sold out for the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League final between Montreal and Club América next Wednesday at the Olympic Stadium.

That means more than 59,000 tickets for the encounter were sold in less than two weeks.

“It is, in my opinion, the best crowd we’ve ever drawn because these are 59,000 in a few days of sale, which we had never achieved,” Legendre told reporters at the team hotel. “When we drew crowds of 50,000 and more, it was always over several months. This is really exciting.”

Yet this will likely be the second-biggest crowd in Impact history.

A record crowd of 60,860 attended Montreal’s 1-1 tie with the LA Galaxy on May 12, 2012. Legendre said that the Impact considered every way of maximizing the Big O capacity and hinted that some last-minute tickets may be issued if the club finds the required room.

“The field's positioning isn’t the same then when we played against [David] Beckham [and the Galaxy] – that’s the record, 60,000 fans,” Legendre said. “The field was further, which gave us more space for extra stands. … We’ll look into other ways of doing it.”

Montreal fans needing a distraction from the Raptors also have the Impact game to look forward too.

Amazing that they have reached the Finals, and even more amazing is they have sold almost 60,000 tickets to the second leg.

The game is available on Sportsnet World and online on their site tonight at 9pm.

Montreal Impact are pure magic in this tournament.

Club America should be down to 10 men too. That jersey tug should've been a red card.

I can't wait for the second leg!

What a fantastic result for Montreal. To leave Mexico with a 1-1 tie is amazing.
