Parsons was asked to do too much this season and couldn't handle the work load. Last year, Harden did all the work , thus Parsons was fresher . Since he is getting paid 15mil now, he had to do the real work.

On paper the Mavs looked to be much better with Rondo, but I guess it wasn't the case in reality.

Im glad Rondo won't ever play again for Dallas.

However We could really use Parsons. I think our best chance would have actually been Parsons and Aminu at the forwards as much as possible with Dirk on the bench. Pains me to type that, but he's killing us on defense and he's just not good enough offensively any longer to overcome that.

I expect Dallas to give a great effort in game 3 and maybe even win it, but I'd honestly be surprised if this series gets to game 6. You guys really haven't even played that great and yet its been clear for 96 minutes that Houston is the superior side.

And I hope Houston is giving McHale his due so far in this series. Prior to the start of the series I would have said head coach was our biggest advantage and while I know Rick has been handcuffed a bit by the injuries, its pretty clear that McHale is coming up with stuff that Rick hasn't found answers for.

You forget that we are missing two key players in Beverly and Montiejunas. Injuries are a part of NBA life, you deal with them, no excuses. I am just waiting for Cuban to cure himself of that foot in mouth disease he has. It looks to me like Dallas just threw the towel in on this series. At least we'll be well rested for the 2nd round, where we play a team that might be a challenge. I just feel sorry for the OKC fans, at least their team wants to be in the playoffs.

Don't get too overconfident kam. This series isn't over just yet. Don't forget 2005 when we were also up 2-0 or 20 years ago when we were down 3-1 to Phoenix and came back. And it's Motiejunas not Montie. :)

Play a team that might be a challenge? C'mon now. It isn't like the mavs have been blown out, they were leading 4th quarter in both games I'm pretty sure even though they played with little passion. That was the difference and why the Rockets won. They simply want it more. I can only hope that they find themselves in game 3 & 4 with the crowd on their side. Teams are supposed to win their games at home. Such a shame how they threw the towel on the first two games though, considering they were still very much in them. They just let the Rockets run away with it. I know we don't have Parsons and Rondo anymore, but if Harden has another awful game I don't think Houston will beat them at home (as long as the Mavs can group together and find some inspiration). Shoot me for still keeping hope! OKC wasn't good enough, simple as that. Not our fault they didn't make the playoffs lol better luck next season Westbrook

Game 3 is in Dallas on Friday, April 24th at 6:00 PM CST.

The Rockets lead 2-0 following a Dunk Party led by the one-time Atlanta Celtics, Dwight Howard & Josh Smith. Dallas has been hit heavily both on and off the court to start this series losing both Chandler Parsons and Rajon Rondo. Game Three could see an emotional Mavs team feeding off of the home crowd to bring an underdog effort, so the Rockets will need to approach the game as if they are in the hole and need the win. As long as Dirk is around this will be a dangerous team; but the question is how much help he will get from those around him.

Two games in, two wins in and James Harden has played well, but hasn't had to take over a game so far. He is getting help from multiple teammates and Dwight Howard is looking the best that he has looked this season. Dwight still needs to be more careful with those early fouls, though.

Looking forward to this one tomorrow night. I may have to leave work a bit early to ensure that I don't miss any part of the game.

GO ROCKETS!!!

Losing Rondo and Parsons reminds me of when we lost Vernon Maxwell and Carl Herrera in the playoffs twenty years ago. Hopefully it doesn't motivate them. Aminu and Barea are both Rocket killers.

Herrera was big off the bench in the 1994 run and was expected to play a lot in 1995 with Otis Thorpe traded but he only played in 1 playoff game before being hurt. Maxwell also played in just 1 playoff game in 1995 before quitting on the team just like Rondo has.

why game 3 start at 6p?
how can you have a team in the east start at 7p and the team in the west start at 6p?

I've given up on trying to figure out NBA scheduling decisions.

The worst is when they have two teams like the Rockets & Mavericks playing the late game because they are the "Western" teams.

It's because of ESPN. They are showing the Rockets-Mavs at 6 then Spurs-Clippers at 8:30
Spurs-Clippers is in San Antonio so they can't start that game at 9:30
That eastern conference game will air at 7 but on ESPN2 since there is less interest in that series.

Yeah, I'm hoping that history doesn't repeat itself with that situation.

This situation does get both teams back to an equal footing, having lost two starters for the series.

this is why i don't understand
all 3 games are air on espn/espn2
just swap houston and washington time and we are all good
i'm going to miss some part of the game because of stupid timing
unless i stay at work and watch the whole game

Houston Rocket Legend Jason Terry was fined $5,000 for flopping.

Anyone know the play that got him tagged?

I don't remember anything outrageous by JET. I'd say JJB could get fined every game for it, but I guess the league has just accepted it? I understand he legit gets pushed off on a lot due to the aggressive way he defends ball handlers, but he always acts like he got hit by a truck.

Would love it if somebody has the JET play.

Chandler Parsons has terrible shooting form.

Return to Houston Rockets
