LBJ, Wade, Kobe & Drexler.
And you don't draft a cassell & Fisher top 3 overall. You want a guy who can breakdown the defense and create with a top 3 pick PG.
Russell to me projects more so as a "elite shooting guard prospect" in which is very rare to find in the nba. Like said previously penetrating point guards are a dime a dozen in this league ala " Ish Smith" . Russell is higher on my board because his skill set is rare in a young player and gives our team a legit number 2 option and perimeter go to guy to compliment Embiid. He provides flexibility and versatility among the lineups we can use compared to Mudiay who is strictly a point guard. 76ers have a bunch point guards down their pipeline with Wroten , Pierre Jackson, Caanaan , the Turkish stash and who every they draft in the 2nd round hopefully the Brazilian point guard prospect. Russell all the way
He'll have a hard time shooting over long athletic swingmans who plays 2s (i.e. Wiggins). So, I think Russell is best as a shoot first PG like Steph Curry, who plays off ball from time to time. He has elite vision, passing skills and shooting. But he is a shoot first PG than a guy who can drive and draw.
I also think that guys who can create and penetrate for a PG is hard to find, Ish's talent to create and penetrate for me is star level but he has several big glaring holes in his game due to his size and shaky shooting.
For me, 3 and D guys are dime a dozen. 3 and D are the basic fundamental fundamental or the first thing for any person who wants to play basketball. But guys who can create, penetrate and athletic are special and that's why it's the most common trait the star guards/swingman like CP3, Deron, MJ, LBJ, Kobe and so on.
Shooting can be learned. Ish Smith had a questionable 3pt and FT% before he was starting for us but he improved a lot from being a 50% FT and low 30 3pt% to 70FT% and 35 3pt% in small sample size in March. And there are other guys like JaKarr, Noel and Jerami who also has improved their shooting. And the reason why I'm leaning on selecting Mudiay (wouldn't mind Russell), is because of his upside with his create and penetrate, very good athleticism and length could make him a very dynamic guard. Plus the hope of him improving his shooting just like some of our guys who most people thought were hopeless with their shooting development before they play for us.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
