I'm giving you Bledsoe: Get me a Top 6 draft pick

Post#1 » by Mr-Al » Sat Apr 25, 2015 6:53 am

My target is D'Angelo Russell or maybe Porzingis

Potential options include Sacramento, but it's likely that Russell is gone by then.

Bledsoe is pretty damn good value for a pick in the 4-6 range in my opinion (13th pick can be included as well)

Any potential trades?

I've already said this a few times but

Bledsoe, #13, future 1st

For

#2 from NYK makes a lot of sense from both sides

Phil trades his pick to help melo win now and they can go out and look for their 3rd star in free agency to form their own big 3. They also gain future flexibility and still get to draft a rookie in the lotto at #13.

PHX gets their choice at Mudiay, Russell, or KAT/Okafor as their future franchise cornerstone. I'm sure the Suns could take calderon back as well for extra incentive to get phil to pull the trigger if needed.

6th, Landry for E. Bled and Tucker?

Not sure if it works under cap? With a rising cap Landry really won't make a difference if suns decide to rebuild. Tucker offers that versatility the kings could use, and I imagine suns would want TJ to play heavy minutes if they do rebuild.

It's an interesting idea, but some things first.

- Adding Tucker is way too much value going to Sactown, I think we could look to move Tucker to a contender somewhere in a separate deal that should bring back more young assets maybe

- I'm not sure if we would trade Bledsoe to another team in the West and make them elite basically, maybe it's not an issue, I don't know, Bled/Gay/Cousins is a damn good core that could win a whole lot of games next season w/ Karl

- 6th is low enough that maybe the guy we're looking for will be gone

- We would also probably want one of Mclemore or Stauskas

The Knicks are always the first team I think of when I think of the Bledsoe trade, but then I think that if I were Knicks, there's no way I would do if it I were in the #1-4 range. It's such a "Knicks" thing to do that I think they wouldn't do it. But then again they probably would.

Theoretically it makes for both sides

I would definitely do this as a Suns fan

But do you think it could be done for just Bledsoe/#13 or Bledsoe/future 1st?

As a Suns fan, this trade doesn't really excite me. Personally I think Knight & Beal are similar enough

I wouldn't do it. And I don't think the Wizards would start Bled at SG.

The Suns won't trade Bledsoe, that doesn't make any sense even if they will decide to rebuild quickly.

I'd definitely do Bledsoe, pick 13 for Pick 2 or 3 from Knicks.
Knicks get to surround Melo with Bledsoe and another max star player (Monroe) and they still have a lottery pick to get dept.

Regarding Beal for Bledsoe... why would Wizards do this?, Wall and Bledsoe back court has no shooting...

Bledsoe and #13 might get you high enough from a value standpoint to get Porzingis. But who's a win now team that needs a point in that range? The Kings, maybe, but personally I'd rather get a high end rookie and stick with Collison at 4.7M per than Bledsoe at 13M.

3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Sac is the team that makes the most sense in my view... and I think if you offer them Bledsoe for #6 or #7 they HAVE to take it. But as the OP said, Russell is probably gone.

If Sac ends up at #3 (10% chance), then I think it works out. Phoenix can probably get the guy they want and maybe that kick in the extra pick to compensate Sac.

As people have said NYK and LAL are the other two teams that need a PG, that may not want to wait to develop one... But I like Bledsoe so I hope that doesn't happen to him.

I wouldn't and neither would the Suns, IMO.

Neither Okafor, nor Mudiay, nor Russell looks like a sure-fire player that has definitely more chance to become a better player than Bledsoe is right now. Plus the Suns give away #13 as well.

Definitely more chance? Sure. Nothing in the draft is a definite anything, to the point that saying so isn't meaningful as a statement. However, on value that is an amazing deal, and on chance for a breakout star equally so. Maybe Phoenix wouldn't, but they absolutely should take that deal if it was offered.

Agreed. You have to consider upside and there's a good chance either of these guys will be far more impactful than a somewhat above average point guard. Not to mention the salaries.

If suns didn't have Knight... They'll lean on keeping Bledsoe.

But since they have Knight potentially on a max contract. They will definitely consider or desire getting a potential star that provides needs (shooting, IQ etc)

Mudiay and Russell are typical McD type of guys too.

As a Suns fan, I'd do that trade in an instant. Beal looks like he's going to be a top 3 SG in the league here soon

Bledsoe to Sacramento might make some sense. If its Bledsoe for #6 + Landry, i think both teams would probably agree. I'm not sure its a good deal for the Suns as i think they give up more talent, but they need to do something to shake up their roster. Bledsoe is a good player, but man there is something broken with the Suns... not sure if its Bledsoe, the coach, the GM, the Morris's or some combination of all.

Sacramento likely gets the better player, but OTOH, if they are really looking to shop Cousins (which i really hope is not the case), i would think they'd have that trade lined up before pulling the trigger on a trade like this.

yesss

much rather see Bled go East

in reality though, it's gonna be Sac choosing between Bled or Lowry, with the 3rd team not being included at all

I think they go Bled because of the Cousins/Bled connection already being there
