the only reason I don't like it is because I don't trust them to get anyone better. Steve is pretty bad at this point though

I didn't even know Steve Martin was fired. I'm gonna miss him doing the games. I never had much of a problem with him calling out the wrong players by the wrong names often. At least he's getting to stay within the Hornets family moving to radio. Seem like a really good guy.

I had absolutely no problem with Steve. The only reason I can think of for him being fired is that it was just time for someone new.

Steve provided entertainment during that horrible losing year that I will always be thankful for.

I thought he was generally one of the more neutral team commentators as well.

I will definitely miss him.

He did show some bias towards Charlotte at times, but I don't know what people expect. Charlotte fans are the ones watching in the first place. I think it is necessary to have just a little bit of bias. I have seen other teams where their commentator bias was just crazy. The few times I watched the Hawks games with their commentators I was almost just disgusted.

Atlanta/Nique is definitely up there. I'd give Boston, San Antonio and Houston (Clyde Drexler is just horrible) the top3 spots among the most biased commentary though.

Shout out to Chicago, the Clippers (and Michael Smith all of whose stories some way end up at "and this one time Larry Bird told me") and Portland as well.

That picture is glorious.

With that said I'm very happy with the transition to the new team.

Towards the end of the game the TV broadcast did a shot of the TV team and you could see Steve in the picture sitting behind them. A few minutes later they came back to that shot and Steph start cracking jokes about how Steve has the entire row to himself.

I have a funny feeling about the fact that actor Steve Martin and our Steve Martin both have their birthday on August 14. Either way I sent him this video alongside birthday wishes. Thought some of you might like this as well:
