I would love thibs but if we can't get him, we need a proper coach.

Not an assistant, not a college coach, etc. stop playing these games and actually get a coach who's done something in the NBA AS A HEAD COACH. Nothing less.

Hiring Thibs will at least weed out any soft ass bitches on our team. Any players like that will not survive playing under Thibs.

The mistake in this thinking is you can end up hiring a coach who has had past success but is too old school and stubborn to change his ways.

Trust me. Brad Stevens, Steve Kerr, Jason Kidd and Steve Budenholzer have a combined 5 years of HC experience and are the top 4 COTY candidates.

I would love to have Thibs but being a Raps fan I am pessimistic on our prospects of landing him.

I will this though, I HATE his stubbornness in overplaying his roster and mismanaging minutes to adjust for an 82 game schedule and the longevity of players careers. That being said he is still better than any coach we've ever had

Keep JV, DeMar an PPat, pray that Cleveland mops the floor with Chicago, sign Thibs. That'd be a good start at least.

Thibs has a habit of making his PG look good as well.(DJ Augustin, Nate)

Make him a godfather offer. We did it for Masai, didn't we? Then again, Lieweke has been sidelined also so who knows what the Bell/Rogers MLSE bean counters are thinking?

Thibs will make charmin tissue Ross into a DPOY. We have players that can legit play defense in Lowry, Ross, JJ, Amir, just imagine Thibs with these guys. He was able to hide Carlos Boozer for years, dude would be able to hide our poorer defenders.

We proved that this team can be a top 10 defense with effort, for some reason they fell in love with just chucking up shots cause Casey's free flowing offense. With Thibs in the helm, he'll probably take this team back to a top 10 defensive team, considering we do have guys like Lowry/Ross/JJ/Amir.

Masai better throw lots of money to Thibs.

Another name to be on the lookout for is Rick Carlisle... his time in Dallas may be up after this series.

Bulls went from top 2 D to 11th rated D this year. Do you know what changed? They now have Gasol who is slow footed big man playing 30min+. His system was not able to hide his lack of mobility, and he has more length + experience than JV. Any good defensive system has bigs who are mobile and good defenders. If JV is going to be playing 30min, its going to be very difficult to have good d.

Make playoffs all 5 years, win 62 games in 1st season and make it to ECF, make it to the second round another 2 times (including this year, even though the series isn't yet over), contend with an MVP who has spent more time on his SATs than he has on a basketball court in the last few years, play stifling defense, and get great production out of underrated guys (Butler, even Augustin, etc.), and you're sure your getting fired....

VS.

Never make it out of the first round, potentially set a record for worst ever performance by a home team, have a losing record, never get 50 wins, have a pourous defense, set your rotations to match opponents rather than forcing them to matchup with you, call timeouts and get technicals as the credits are about to roll rather than when the momentum could be stopped, DNPCD someone who was brought in for situations like this, and there are no indications you're getting fired.

Makes sense, IMO.

I would hang myself if this happens. Our defence would be exactly the same if he stays as assistant.
