Dude Paplebon is just absolutly filthy. I'm not a homer on that either I'm the biggest Yankee homer there is.

Edmonds is my favorite player but he's not going to make the Hall, same with Rolen. Can we all try and have an objective view here?

Wow, I hope you joking, Papelbon hasn't even pitched in 200 innings in his career, and yet your predicting the hall of fame for him.

Edmonds is without a doubt a top 10 CF of all-time.

Rolen is already a top 15 3rd baseman of all-time and is only 32 years old.

Alfonso Soriano is near a lock, wtf!

And I think Andruw Jones and Ichiro will go down as better when their careers are over.

I think we've had this fight before but Edmonds is definitely going into the HOF. You are forgetting one key element that will play into Edmonds favor that some of those guys never had, Web Gems. Edmonds career was in it's prime as web gems and highlight television was taking off. This means that every sportswriter has seen some of those fantastic plays in CF and that will certainly weight on their mind when voting. Is that a huge aspect, certainly not. But if he's on the fence, I bet that tips the scales just enough.

Also, Schilling is FAR from a lock. mahalo

Puckett was not better than Edmonds, nor will Ichiro be most likely and Ichiro would be considered a RF as of now. Jones, 95% chance he'll go down being better than Edmonds. Edmonds is a top 10 CF of all-time. BTW I could argue Edmonds as being just as good if not better than Duke, but it's a pretty small detail in this so I won't. You really think MVP voting or any other vote in baseball matters, seriously, because they really really don't.

Nice, for Rolen theres 13 guys there, I said he was a top 15 3rd baseman of all-time, which he is and he's only 32 years old which means if he can ever get healthy again he will be a top 10 if not higher 3rd baseman of all-time, which isn't looking promising right now.

Well MVP is voted on by the writers, as is the Hall of Fame......sooooo it must have some merit. If Edmonds gets in i'll be ecstatic, I just dont know if he will. Ichiro is a better player than Edmonds, he's someone that will get voted in like Kofax was, even without playing his whole career here

How? By what measure? Jones has been one of the best defensive CFs of all time but aside from a 2-3 year spike in HRs, his offense doesn't lead me to believe he is a lock for the HOF, especially with his Medoza-esque batting this year and what appears to be a slight slip in his defensive game. Chipper, even with the injuries, has been one of the best third basemen of our generation and probably will be up there in the top 15 when his career is over. mahalo

I have to agree with our resident no stat guy here.

Is Chipper the better hitter, without a doubt and it's not even close. But Andruw Jones has that whole HR thing going for him which overrates him. Andruw is 5 years younger while they almost have the same WARP3's. Just for the fact that Jones is gonna have huge overall numbers, mainly HRs I think theres a lot better chance he gets into the hall.

Now, a good debate would be Chipper vs. Rolen, Chipper is better with the bat, while Rolen better with the glove. I would give the very slight edge to Rolen, while he's also 3 years younger. I hope both get in though.
