Let's hope their rotation is somehow worse than ours in this one. John Gibbons better have them ready to go because you know the 2013 AL Manager of the Year will.

And Raptors get swept in one of the most embarrassing series in playoff history.

I think the loseriness of the Raptors was sucking the life force out of the city. With that now out of the way, look for the Jays to now have their winneryness to emerge. Twenty game win streak. You heard me predict it first!

The Red Sox are somehow third in my AL East hatred power rankings.

What's with the 6 Eastern start times? For me these games all start at 4, which sucks.

Jays really need to get in a habit to win series more than the other teams.
find a way to beat the rays. the way its going, just getting the wildcard is going to be a huge challenge if they get swept by tampa and everytime they get archer once ...

It's all about getting hot at the right time and staying above water until that time. I can't recall the Jays ever getting hot around August unless they were well out of the playoff race. But if they can keep their heads above water until August and then get really hot, that's what will determine this season's fortunes.

So far the Jays seem to be doing the first thing right.

I'm not optimistic with this pitching staff and bullpen that we're any better than a .500 team but we've played all but three games against the AL East and we're 8-8. Playing 500 or slightly better ball against the AL East is perfectly fine. We just can't continue to completely tank out west and in interleague play like we do every single year. This division is going to beat up on each other but ultimately be decided by who performs the best outside of it assuming no one really crashes in the division.

Is this switching of positions between Pompey and Pillar just a temporary thing? To be honest, I'm not really a fan of it.

They think more of Pillar's defense than Pompey. Can't say I blame them with how they've played out there.

So far, obviously Pillar has been much better. But it's still early, and Pompey is expected to be the CF of the future. He was fine defensively when he was called up last year.

Pompey actually has a UZR/150 of 33.9 in CF this year, fwiw.

Genuine question - is that a good rating or not? How does Pillar compare?

Edit: I just checked fangraphs. Apparently, its good, but they have Reyes near the top too, so not sure I can take this rating seriously.
