Although the sad thing is that if Lowry never became that good in the first place, Masai probably rebuilds midway through last season and we're not in this same predicament now. Lowry turning into an All-Star potentially cost this franchise a lot.

What really killed it was when the trade fell through, the team goes on the road against the Lakers and win. They reel off a few more wins to get close to .500. And Masai says, F it I'll give you guys a chance do your worst. And they proceed to go on in improbable run way above their talent level. It's his fault for being so passive, too nice, wanting to give these guys a chance. Two years potentially wasted. But hey, good for MLSE's bottom line. I could care less about that though as a fan.

Most fans at that time wanted to believe in this team, so that certainly didn't help matters. It had been so long since this team was even decent that any minor success at all was celebrated. But this is ultimately where short-term thinking, the acceptance of mediocrity and the treadmill leads.

Masai's got one more chance now. He better take it or we're looking at BC 2.0.

If coaching is the difference between winning and losing 4-0 (20+ deciding game), they should be paying coaches max contracts instead of players.

I think if we learned anything from this series it's that we don't do anything particularly well. Once scouted both our offense and defense get shut down. The defense was never good this season, the offense was good but lacked any sort of versatility that would be needed when certain options get shut down and there's no superstar that can go to work.

Why wouldn't you go there? Just because the team can't play defense, it doesn't mean that Casey's free-for-all chucker offensive system is effective at all.
