We can't win here. If Braun and Ramirez start hitting better and Lucroy and Gomez come back, then they'll never trade anyone. Seems every time the team has 2 good months, it sets us back 2 years. And this team will have a couple good months at some point this season. You can count on it.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

I think the difference this year is the start has been so atrocious that the playoffs are basically already off the table. It would require insane production and health from guys who aren't producing and aren't healthy to undo the damage already done. I think maybe a couple guys perform well and maybe Braun becomes Braun again, but I don't think anything is gonna get them to go on some 30-10 run to get them back in the playoff hunt.

I'm on board with Coolhand here. If a lot of the vets get it going and boost their value, I doubt that Mark trades Gomez, Lucroy, Braun, or anyone with a significant amount of value.

If they don't, I still doubt they'll be sold low.

I think Mark and Doug even are sharp guys that get we are out of it but I don't think Attanasio has the long-term idea to trade his "valuable" contract guys in their primes.

I think the next couple years will be very interesting. Really this is the first dire situation Mark A has been in. He bought a team that sunk so low that he was given a huge grace period and it ended up being during a time we hit on some big prospects, and had enough other talent to go on a little run. I know we've had some down years in his tenure but you always had guys like Braun to bank on. That's not really the case anymore. Your superstar is a shell of his former self, many players are aging, and there isn't immediate help in the farm. Will Mark actually be patient and build for like 2017-18, or does he try to go All-In somehow...? I really don't know.
