Any competent GM would make a inquiry i'd think, but i'm guessing he says thanks, but no thanks.

He wants to win a Championship, is my guess, he will have better options

Spurs are supposed to be ready to make an aggressive push for him on July 1st. I'm pretty sure he'd prefer to play next to Duncan, Parker and Leonard over our roster.

Spurs would add another 10 years to their dominance if they got Lamarcus

Aldridge and Leonard would make a destructive force for at least the next 4 years.

Timing seems wrong on LMA to Detroit. Love his game, but he'll be 30 by the time next seasons starts. It does seem more likely he'll want to go to a team that is a contender.

He's a Texas guy through and through. With the Spurs being perennial contenders with arguably the best coach of all time, there's little reason he goes elsewhere considering Portland is a cursed wasteland for basketball players.

We should inquire about him sure, but he'll politely decline.

I would prefer a Younger Donatas Motiejunas.

Man, if he goes to San Antonio that would he so crazy. I like it a lot!

For us, it's like Kevin Love...

coming to detroit is a pipe dream, sadly, because hes ideal. his age isn't that much of a problem though because he has a game that gets better with time. his game is based on pure basketball skill. he's going to hold up in time.

I'm just gonna re-quote what I just posted in the Kevin Love thread (slightly edited for content) —

DocRI wrote:SVG must do his "due diligence" and make him the best damn sales pitch he can. As they say, "no" is the answer to every question you never ask.

That said, I think there's less of a chance we get LMA than I do we get Love (and I'm not saying we've got any realistic shot at landing him). Plus, as others have posted, LMA is just a touch old for the core we're building. But still, it's certainly worth the phone call to try to set up a meeting.

He would be great, but we need to spend on a guy that fits long term with Drummond. Aldridge will be too old when Drummond reaches his prime.

Here's Aldridge's thinking...see how Portland's off season goes, if he don't like it, there's no place like home (Texas).

Can you imagine Greg Popovich coming to you on July 1st, "how would you like to come home and be the new Tim Duncan? We also have Kawhi Leonard, he's todays Scottie Pippen...intersted?"

I have a feeling he will sign a one year deal somewhere so he can get that mega deal next summer after the cap goes up, same with Love and probably some others.

He wants to win, he wants to be closer to his hometown, and he's complained about the Portland nightlife. While he would be perfect for us, there are plenty of teams that fulfill those three requirements more than us.

Nah, I got Aldridge signing a 4yr max deal with the Knicks. I can see the Knicks trying to create a big 3 with Rondo, Melo and Aldridge.

Rondo is a shadow of his former self and is a head case if he couldn't play under Carlisle. Please stop Neptune lol.

Lol!

I wouldn't let one bad season fool you. Rondo has shown he can lead a team with 2 aging stars present(Pierce, Garnett). Just think what he can do with two star players around his age.

he may not be a superstar in the eyes of the average nba watcher but he is a guy that every championship team needs, quite possibly just as much as a superstar. he and aldridge would make a great duo, and ive already said in this thread that aldridge is a guy who can play at a high level late into a career.
