2nd & 3rd round Non Packers

Post#1 » by eagle13 » Fri May 1, 2015 10:21 am

The best ILB is gone. No way Kendricks, McKinney or Perryman last until 62. Dawson may still be there but does TT take him? will he fall farther? I'd gamble he falls and pass until 3rd. IF he's gone I'm OK w/ ILB Ramik Wilson if we get an early 4th in a trade OR Taiwan Jones in 5th OR Jake Ryan in 6th.

Goldman will be gone. Don't want Philips. Carl Davis may drop but he does not excite me.
Maxx Williams will be gone and Clive Walford is not a 2nd,
Jake Fisher and Donovam Smith are two OT who might be there? I'd be OK with either.
Back at CB Jalen Collins will be gone. One of PJ Williams Ron Darby Quentin Rollins Alex Carter DJoun Smith might still be there if we want another CB. I'd be OK with any.

I could see trading down for a early 3rd and 4th and taking Dawson or Walford with early 3rd & CB Josh Shaw with our own late 3rd

I have no idea who TT has in mind.

What sucks is that the Cowboys defensive needs are pretty much a mirror image of GB's, so they're gonna keep taking guys we are hoping for. I'm pretty sure they'll be grabbing whoever left of Kendricks, McKinney, and Perryman at their pick. If GB really wants one of them, I think they're gonna have to trade up.

I could see McKinney or Perryman falling. Not saying they will but its possible. Teams dont love 2 down LBs so theres a chance. Who thought Lacy would last to us in the 2nd when we got him? Kendricks is gone though at worst 10 picks into the 2nd.

I would have been ecstatic to grab PJ Williams in the 2nd before last night as I think he stands a good chance at being on the board but after picking Randle I want no part of going CB CB in the first two rounds.

Goldman would most likely need to be traded up for so I wont hold my breath but I wouldnt be upset with Phillips.

Big ole no to any OT option in the 2nd

Barring a trade up in the 2nd im hoping McKinney or Perryman slide, player plummet In the draft all the time, and if not ill settle for Phillips...... Which means we'll prolly be welcoming a WR to GB tonight

I'm guessing they love a ilb that's not even on the fans radar that everyone will hate when the pick happens. That's TTs style. Maybe not today but I expect them to take another corner in the mid rounds. It's a deep corner draft and pack are thinner there than people might realize.

This is exactly what I was going to say, so... thanks. ILB is an undervalued position and guys who are getting projected as two down players have a very tough time getting into the top 50. I personally would love to have guy who can get us to third down, and then hopefully we still have the horses in the secondary. Also, I wouldn't have a problem with Perryman on 3rd down.

Right now, the CBs are:
37 Shields
29 Hayward
39 Goodson
40 Glover-Wright

and "DBs":
33 Hyde
41 Sebetic
23 (I'm guessing a #) Randall

If they keep 10 secondary guys on the roster, it's: Burnett, Haha, and Richardson pretty sure at S, then Randall, Shields, Hayward, Hyde, Goodson pretty sure. That's 8 out of 10 guys. Yeah, I could see the Packers picking up more CBs.

ESPN's mock has the Packers taking McKinney. They've got Grady Jarrett going one pick ahead, though. That would sting a bit.

Kendricks definitely won't be there, but Perryman might. He's my hope at this point.

Maybe that Dez Bryant catch should have been ruled a catch? : :falloff:

If Green-Beckham happened to still be there I wouldn't be mad at that. However I think Tennessee or Tampa takes him in hopes of finding that QB/WR duo of the future.

I would be good with Perryman at #62.

Am I the only one who doesn't think Kendricks is anything special? I'm glad TT didn't take him at #30 just for the sake of taking an ILB.

Another guy I have my eye on at ILB is Taiwan Jones from Michigan St. 2nd round is probably too high for him, he's not good in coverage and not the fastest guy, but he's a presence in the middle. I've seen him projected anywhere from the 3rd-5th round.

I think GB goes d-line in the second, or possibly an edge pass rusher.

I kind of agree. I don't think Ted as concerned about ILB as everyone else. He probably believes he can find a two-down run stopper type in the middle rounds.

Or he already has one...they are a developmental organization, plus what % base 3-4 do they usually run? I am guessing 20% of the time at the most, plus Ted just doesn't value ILB's.

I'm going to say they don't draft an ILB in this round. These guys were all pegged to go late first and they didnt, starting to think maybe they are just big names from big schools. Plus a guy like Borland you can find later.

That said, Ted has done different things in Round 2, so I wouldn't be surprised at a RB or OL. Would be surprised but not stunned at WR. Hoping for DL/EDGE.

Maybe Hunter the edge rusher from LSU?
