How the **** this turned into the Jeremy Lin thread ? This kid is the luckiest bastard in the world.
I will only cherish the wins and ignore everything else, because that's the only way to survive as a Knicks fan.

Just want to share my hopes for this summer, I could be happy with less than this, tho.

Towns/Aldrich
Lamarcus/Bargnani
Melo/Timmy/Early
Wesley/Shved
Gallo/Larkin

Spent all the cap space to Lamarcus and Wesley, Wesley can have a 1 year deal and have a bigger one next year depending on his knees if he prefers, mle can be spent on Bargs if necessary, send calderon somehow without taking back salary, sacrify some goats and even pupies if that helps for Towns. Pick up a pg vet for minimum if possible.
If you're just tuning in, tune out -JVG

^^^Thats pretty good, but would worry about how effective Wes would be coming off a Torn Achilles.

My semi realistic plan is:

Draft:

- Get #1. Draft KAT.

- Trade THjr & cash for a late first  . Draft Delon Wright.

- Trade Jose and a couple of future seconds for any deadweight 15-16 expiring. Lets say Chase Budinger (he's the 5th wing on Min's depth chart, and they badly need a back up point). That would actually save us about 2 mill more cap space this offseason too.

FA

- Pick up Galloway's deal.

- Keep Cole's caphold. Take care of him later.

- Renounce everyone else.

- Sign LMA on a 4 year $80 mill deal (the max we can offer)

We would have about $10 mill in cap left.

- Sign Lin on a 2 year $10 mill deal (2nd year team option). Yes i would bring Lin back- need a point who can get into the paint.

- Sign Belinelli on a 2 year $10 mill deal (2nd year team option) Shooter to space the floor (and underrated playmaker).

Knicks brought back

- Split the room exception between Shved and Bargs (probably around $1.7 mill each), 1 year deals.

- Sign Lou and Thomas to 1 year vet min deals (Fisher's boyz)

- Bring Thanasis up.

15-16 Knicks

KAT/Cole/Lou
LMA/Bargs/Thomas
Melo/Budinger/Thanasis
Belinelli/Shved/Early
Lin/Galloway/Wright

they have Affalo and Mathews, RoLo and LMA and now Lillard to all resign to expensive deals

I think they are gonna have some serious challenges

good thing their owner has such deep pockets

Looks like the cap will be closer to $68 Million.

1. Draft Karl-Anthony Towns
2. Trade Jose Calderon, Tim Hardaway Jr and our three second rounders to Philly for pure cap space.
3. Sign Greg Monroe (4 year deal starting at $14 Million)
4. Sign Danny Green (4 year deal starting at $11 Million)
5. Sign DeMarre Carroll (4 year deal starting at $10 Million)
6. Fill out the roster with minimum vets (Andrew Bynum, Andrea Bargnani, Elton Brand, Jason Terry, Luke Ridnour (after being waived by Orlando))

C-Karl-Anthony Towns/Andrea Bargnani/Andrew Bynum
PF-Greg Monroe/Elton Brand
SF-Carmelo Anthony/DeMarre Carroll/Cleanthony Early
SG-Danny Green/Jason Terry
PG-Langston Galloway/Luke Ridnour

Then build off of that next off-season in 2016.
Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.

What do you think of Ed Davis? How about him as a reasonably priced big to have as a bench/spot starter?

not bad at all except that Jason Terry makes me want to vomit in my mouth

I also think 11 mil for Green is too high as is 10 for Carroll
but I may be undervaluing their market rate

Id like to see Cole and Lou back as well as Shved. I also think Amare has a role on this teams bench

I don't consider it that unrealistic if there is a $68 Million salary cap like they are now projecting and the Knicks give Green and Carroll those kind of starting salaries. That's a good four year contract for both players even in an overpaying market to come to NY for what should be a contending team after the summer of 2016 adds to those acquisitions.

My god. Enough of the nonsense. You build thru the damn draft, these posts absolutely piss me off. if you were GM i'd kill myself

Quick, name the best players for each playoff team and which ones were drafted by that team in the top 5 - GO!

LeBron, Harden, Curry, Leonard, Butler, Gasol, Milsap, CP3, Dirk, Thomas, Lowry, Lopez, Antetokounmpo, and Lillard.

All the best players on their team that made it to the playoffs and either weren't drafted by that team or weren't top 5 draft picks. LeBron the odd exception because he came back as a free agent. Aldridge, Davis, and Wall are the only exceptions...You don't need a top 5 pick to be relevant, you need smart picks and smart trades/signings. Caps the **** out of letters all you want, but Curry, Klay, and Green were all drafted out of the top 5. We don't need the 5th pick, we need multiple ones or multiple players.

good offseason.
take away the 3 second round picks (I don't think they are necessary) and add cash in the philly trade, sign shved with the room exception and (of course) don't take on bynum and we have a very-good-near-perfect-offseason
