Btw ,no idea who Aaron Hernandez even is...I'm european

Don't be mistaken my stance on this ...not for on second I'm agreeing with their actions (wife beating,murder)..

But when judging Floyd Maywheather the boxer,Jon Jones the fighter,Kobe Bryant the player ....etc
When I hear somebody downgrading them as an ATHLETE ,cause ****,one allegedly raped somebody ,the other beat their GF ,the other hit and run a pregnant woman (these being the more serious offences ).....or simply because they are arrogant pieces of **** ,d-bags

It's not ok for me ,just matter of perception I guess

Ok,they are terrible human beings ...and I couldn't give two **** as long as they entertain me

Btw,this escaladated quickly .....this whole thing started from this

"How can you root for Mayweather,he's so arrogant "...are you **** kidding me ? All great athletes are arrogant

Why not root for Maywheater but be a Kobe fan ,for example? That's double standard written all over it

Are you sincerely telling me ,the guy who said that actually has a point?

I don't care about arrogance in an athlete at all, all athletes have huge egos.

I don't root for people who are pieces of **** as people.

hoped for exciting fight....got what I was expecting....boring arse tactical fight. I don't understand the hype behind wanting to see Mayweather fight in general. He's an awesome counter-puncher but that's like watching an ALL D football team like the Baltimore team that won the SB with Trent Dilfer at QB, boring as F!!!!!!

I said that and are you seriously this ignorant? So arrogance on the court or in the ring can't piss people off? Is that not a part his "performance"? Where did I mention his domestic abuse and what not? Where the hell did I say I'm a kobe fan, seems like your putting words into my mouth. I'm a lakers fan and it happens to be that kobe is on the same team I root for but that doesn't change that he is an arrogant fool as well. However, having said that, nothing beats Mayweathers arrogance. You have no argument other than I must respect and judge athletes the same way you do. Get a grip dude.

Kobe or for that matter no other athlete does nearly flaunt his wealth like Mayweather does, which might piss some people off.

Yeah, I don't think that's what people are upset with... I think Americans are desensitized to that to a large extent. Personally, I see that and start taking bets about how long after his final fight he goes before the Feds are seizing assets for unpaid taxes...

What I'm tired of is the "I'm better than Ali" and the complete over-use of the 'pound for pound' excuse... Of course a guy that's 5'8' and 150 is going to be quicker, more elusive than a heavyweight... That doesn't make him "pound for pound" a better fighter. That just makes him lighter and faster and because he's fighting other light weights, he's not absorbing anywhere near the punishment.

Mayweather is obviously a much better technical fighter than Ali, but unless Mayweather used the ropes three times as much against Ali as he did Manny; the minute Ali got into his hit box, Ali would wreck that man's world. Needless to say, comparing a lightweight fighter to a heavyweight fighter is ridiculous. Not sure why Mayweather even made that statement.

It's the whole "Pound for Pound" thing the Boxing world has been force feeding us so we actually care about welterweights and below...
I'm not sure Mayweather is a more technical fighter than Ali, I just think it looks that way because he's so much quicker. Ali was unconventional in a lot of ways, but he was an Olympic Gold Medal winner too... And could be extremely technical when he wanted to be.
But the statement was just Floyd the promoter doing his thing.

heres the thing

the way may weather dictated this fight, I see no reason why he wouldn't have beaten manny 5 years ago. Yes, manny was stronger, faster, and hit harder, but floyds defense was always there. As much as the I like manny, there is just no denying that floyd is a better "boxer"...now if both were in MMA, manny wins easily because floyd can't be ducking and dodging so much. The sport of boxing comprises of offense and defense. Floyd portrayed both those skillsets superior to manny.
Marcos Maidana had a better chance of beating floyd the first time, and shane mosley had floyd dazed and was about 1-2 solid punches away from winning by KO...but floyd adjusted to both fights, made maidana look like an amateur, and made destroyed mosley in the same fight.
Floyd is what floyd says he is- a calculated fighter. a few steps ahead of his opponent. thats why he's 48-0.

I want to see him fight amir khan because khan is insanely fast...floyd will win quite easily but it should still be a bit entertaining.

that said, i don't like floyd at all. he's too cocky. but he's a great entertainer and he has absolutely mastered the sport of boxing.

manny won our hearts, floyd won the sport.

Floyd's fought some great fighters, but he always seems to catch them leaving their prime... Mosely, De La Hoya... And even then, I watched the De La Hoya fight and think Oscar won that fight much like Floyd beat Pacman... He dictated the whole fight, and cruised the last couple rounds... Which people say cost him the fight... Still got the split decision.
They were supposed to fight a rematch at 147 lbs... De La Hoya dominated his tune up fight... And Floyd retired in 2008... I always thought it was to avoid that rematch with De La Hoya and potentially losing his undefeated record and all his belts.

So my opinion of him is based on that... I'm not sure he fought more than a handful of worthy opponents in their prime.
