After reading through more of the posts this morning I'm convinced that we should sit Paul again. More rest will only help him. My hope is that we can beat Houston in Game 2, but I'm sure that they'll give a better effort. We also had JJ, Barnes, Jamal, and Austin step up in ways I wasn't expecting. If Doc does sit Paul again we'll need some great performances from our supporting cast again. I know we'll be ready to go and we can't be satisfied with a split in Houston.

Houston is going to play better on Wednesday but on the flipside just think about the confidence flowing through the Clipps right now after winning like that without Paul and playing sh*tty in the entire first half.. we're gonna be playing even harder on Wednesday as well.

Man if we win on Wednesday :o

Chris Broussard just said Chris told him he couldn't jog after last night's game.

not expecting him back Wednesday

if that's the case, yeah. he can't force it, he just can't.

i don't think houston will be as bad as they were but they have no answer for blake. i think we'll be fine.

after a grueling 7 game series vs the defending champs, without your star pg and leader, on the road vs a rested houston, you guys steal game 1. just had to come here and give kudos to your squad, that's very impressive. teams and people keep doubting the clippers but they keep pushing forward. CP3 is the key to going all the way though.

we did not steal anything. the clips played hard and never quit. they earned it. so tnt guys, how is that the rockets will kill the clippers without cp3, working out for you. they are absolutely the worst people in sports. somebody please tell silver to get someone with a little creditability. I have to turn the sound off. they are just pathetic.

I'm with you. We didn't steal anything. We presented the same problems for Harden that we always did and Blake and DJ won their match ups.

Don't forget Charles saying we don't have a chance even if we have CP3 in this series.
lol.

Noticed him limping on the bench last night, so I wouldn't expect him to play tomorrow night. We won game 1 so makes sense to let him get rest.

definitely did not steal game 1. in a way it kind of bugs me, but is actually way more entertaining because the people who think the rockets can match up with this team are gonna end up being very surprised.

I know Doc has said that he'll be erring on the side of caution in listening to the medical staff on whether to play Chris Paul for Game 2. However, if there is any significant doubt, you rest him. Period. Taking an unnecessary risk on re-injuring our star point guard is a non-starter.

I know some are tired of hearing it but jj just went 7 games against the 2 best wing defenders in the game, won the match up with green, and I believe played more minutes than any player on either team. now in game one against houston he has to go against the best scorer in the league and basically won that battle. the spurs made it their primary goal to stop him. the media and in particular tnt thinks he is just an under sized sg who has no place in the league. could someone in the media please at least mention that he was in the building.

I expect posturing and for us to say CP is a game time decision and for him to not play.

eh, it's not worth it.

tnt types will never understand the value of a JJ redick. they will never understand that part of the reason that steph curry is so special isn't just because of his unreal shooting ability, but because of the gravity he creates on defenders without the ball. almost anything that's off the ball work is not worth of discussion for them.

the tnt/media types just see the numbers and that's it. they will never truly understand the amount of depth that there is in playing successful basketball.

who are the TNT media types?

Kenny the jet Smith whom i never recall being called the "jet" in his playing time, and was really a journey man who was a disappointment after being picked so high by the kings. if it wasn't for Hakeem, he would have never gotten a ring.

Chuck whom I do admire as a player, especially while he was with the 76ers. but come on he is a bonehead. his deductive reasoning would fail your community college's 100 level logic course.

Shaq who sounds like a COPD patient that labors to speak a single word isn't exactly a coach material either, he was a great player and I do see him as one of the top 3 centers of all time, but come on he ain't no Kareem when it comes to brain power.

I would trust one of my patients who is a 70 plus year old dialysis receiving retired rural Oregon's girls high school basketball coach's assessment better than any one of those guys. PS- he is also senile. still brighter than those fellas.
ehhhhh f it.

yup.

i know it might irritate a little bit on the surface to hear the casual fan repeat the silly tropes and narratives they glean from watching the TNT show, but why should someone's uneducated opinions on our team bother us? we know better. and if they're willfully ignorant the way shaq, barkley, or smith are it really only serves as comedic fodder. in the basketball world, kenny smith is somewhere up there for me with andre miller and a couple other guys, and i go out of my way to hear them say dumb things cause i want to keep pushing my dislike for them.

anyone with half a brain will realize that 90% of what they say is completely wrong and dumb. and the people whose opinions you DO value are probably gonna be smart enough to not listen to them in the first place.
