In 2005 the Jazz landed the #3 pick in the draft (that they used on Deron Williams, though Chris Paul was on the board) in exchange for the #6 and #27 picks. Toronto had the #7 and #16 so should've been in on that deal, but instead went with Charlie V and Joey Graham!!.

Whom we woulda/coulda picked isn't really the point. It's about strategy - it's about Casey winning meaningless games in April (while other lottery teams tanked around him) that worsened our draft position.

This goes back to the original question of tanking. Had we started the tank back 2-3 years ago, I think we'd have better assets today for the future. So what did we gain in the past 2 years by not tanking? Winning culture? Nope. Playoff experience? Well... we did worse this year WITH playoff experience than last year without playoff experience. So... we gained nothing.

He's done like Alvin. It's soooo Toronto that such a great guy and defensive player would end just right when the team got good.

It sucks... it f*cking sucks.

He's the one guy that's adapted to this city and it's fans and gave it all to us. He still had some left in the tank though.

I'm hoping he's willing to sign multiple years as a backup PF/C on a very reasonable hometown discount. He deserves to be here, and we deserve to have him here for as long as he plays.

I think he's going to be one of the best backup bigs in the league next year, honestly. He defends, he shoots, he's a leader... it's only his ankles that holds him back. But with limited minutes, he's a gem for a good team off the bench.

We (as fans) gained being able to watch a solid basketball team for 82 games. People love to say stuff along the lines of championship or bust, but being able to watch a good team on a night to night basis has to count for something.

What a dump this place is. Too many amateur psychologists. Ill stick to this thread.

They finally put up some (not all) PO #s.

Heres 2014s D, regular season only.

Roll Man got progressively worse and more used. They actually defended ISOs/PnR Ball great in the POs. Obv WAS in transition was a nightmare, but they defended it better over last years regular season numbers. Those arent as bad as I thought (the PO ones), alot of big man issues tho. KL/GV were nightmares defensively tho on the perimeter (as illustrated in my previous post).

Really can't believe we're entertaining letting Amir go. We need more players like Amir not less. Yes, even this version of Amir. On a team that just got destroyed by chucking and bad defense, we look at the player who even at this stage is one of our best defenders and is one of the few players on the team who prioritizes high % offense, and deem him the problem? As for capspace we may have more than we can efficiently use in 16 and 17 anyways. The competition to sign the good FAs will be so steep that it could be a losing game for a franchise like the Raptors to plan on winning the summer in those years. I'd rather have Amir for 8 million than to have enough capspace to "win" a bidding war to pay washed up David Lee 10 million
