I'm hoping to kill the expectation that Casey is guaranteed to come back next year. To me, saying "Casey is our coach" in the context that he did (i.e. stating a fact, but not committing to it) leads me to believe Masai is going to consider other coaching options. But that's just me.

When this current coach has brought you the best record in franchise history and you can't even say something like that tells me enough. Casey is gone guys.

Thanks for the recap and summation of the interview homie.
Appreciate your take as well on it.
I guess we're waiting on a specific coach, maybe it's Thibs. Maybe, it's Messina. Who knows.
I still think Steve Nash is in play for the job, too.

Np man. Yea he could be waiting out on a certain coach he wants like the ones you stated. Or maybe MLSE are telling Masai well Casey can go only if you find someone better. After all Masai did bring up the fact that Casey has won a chip and you can't deny that. So who knows, but firing Casey would be the start in the right direction.

Absolutely untrue. Whatever you think of Masai's work on the team so far, he is a complete 180 from BC. For one thing, he never tries to sell you on what he's doing; he's not a used car salesman. He doesn't use the media much to push an agenda and he likes to keep his cards close to his vest. This is why people are so disappointed by every interview he does. He just does not want to tell the media too much. I've also never seen Masai outright lie about anything either.

Did you get a feel for what he's going to do with the roster?

What good does it serve the team, all it does is please the rabid fan base that is looking for a head to roll after a disastrous post season. He can wait longer and put out feelers for who would be available while giving Casey an opportunity to present a case for what he would do differently. Right now is a lul period, no trades or drafting just data processing and exit meetings. Casey can wait longer to make a move.
I found his dig on Feschuck amusing. Wing defender issue being mentioned by Masai might be a hint that is something big on our to do list this summer. Or he just tired of Feschucks rants, who knows.
