How do we all feel about Ty Lawson and how does Melo feel about him?

No idea, but I remember right after the Melo trade, Ty Lawson said that Denver was winning because they had no "sticky hands" on the team anymore.

Take that FWIW

If we get the #3 pick....

#3 + Calderon for Lawson + Denver's pick (currently 7)?

Could Lawson fit in the triangle? He is pretty versatile offensively. And this move would probably increase our chances of signing Aldridge.

I would rather just draft Russell

I'm down with #3 and Calderon for #7, Lawson, G-Harris & Denver's 2016 pick.

- we take WCS at #7
- we trade Timmy for a late 1st round pick
- we sign Monroe, T-Harris, and C-Joseph

Lawson/Joseph
Galloway/G-Harris
Melo/Early
T-Harris/2015 pick (from Denver)
Monroe/WCS

It ain't happening if they have to include the 2016 pick. Be happy they taking Calderon off our hands and trading us a player we should have drafted. Another thing, 2015 Denver pick = WCS, I don't know why you have it twice in your potential lineup.
I will only cherish the wins and ignore everything else, because that's the only way to survive as a Knicks fan.

No love lost between Lawson and Rondo,uh. I bet there's many other players that feel that way now.

Good read I believe this kid is a steal if we can get him, especially in the triangle. I do believe we might have to part wirh more than money to get him. Think he is worth the 2018 protected.

Any way we could entice them to trade him too us without giving up this years first?

It would be sweet if Jose ThJR and future protected pick did the trick, but that is not being realistic. Argument would be vet back up guard who bring shooting and experience to a young team. Young SG who still had potential on a rookie deal and protected future pick is just that. Maybe the draft falls right and they get Winston and a deal like this makes more sense. For us it is easy. Young talent. Wants to be in NY. Sheds other salary

Sorry that 2015 pick was supposed to come from moving THJ.

me too

or Mudiay if he's as good as reported

Lawson is solid but he's a trade not a pick swap
Im not sure what his value is in the league right now but he's never been much of a stopper or a half court guy, sorta just a really good ball push and penetrator IMO

Im not giving away picks any more if its not for a guy who makes us a contender

But Harris is an interesting prospect

problem is we would have to overpay to get him
I don't want Harris at 12 mil because he would go from a versatile, young high value player to a top paid player with a ton of responsibility and less "value"

its the same as Middleton.

Is 15mil a good value for him? Perhaps but he's not proven his worth at that level so its a big risk for potential

Really not a big fan of Lawson's. As far as no more sticky hands? The Nuggets haven't exactly been looking any good either since the trade.

After the salary cap goes up, 12-15/Max turns into the equivalent value of about an 8-10m contract

yeah, unless that doesn't happen and they spread the cap growth out

just because people are predicting a major cap explosion doesn't mean its guaranteed

also wouldn't it be nice to be int eh max cat market in 2016 instead of looking at Harris as a equivalent value issue?

Cap smoothing (spreading the cap increase) out has already been rejected. http://www.nba.com/2015/news/features/steve_aschburner/02/13/nba-players-union-meeting/

I'm pretty sure the cap jump is official for 2016. Exact numbers have not be determined, but it's happening. The league has put out projections for the following years
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12711616/teams-told-nba-salary-cap-hit-100m-2017-18-season

EVERYONE is going to be in the max cat market in 2016 Smart teams with cap space will use 2015 FA to get a jump on everyone else

That's an understatement. Great read, I know Millsap is severely underrated but didn't realize how much Harris is.
