Two days after Lionel Messi posterized Jerome Boateng with his second goal in the first leg of Barcelona's Champions League tie against Bayern Munich, the German defender responded on Instagram.
Boateng posted a picture of Marlon Brando as The Godfather with the following quote:
"Haters will broadcast your failure, but whisper your success."
Boateng was voted by The Guardian at the end of 2014 as the 57th best player in the world.
