Game 3: Nice return by Harvey, like it was just another day at the office.
Game 2: Dreadful hitting performance, missed a lot of chances
Game 1: Colon with a nice game and the bats took advantage of the errors

Overall, nice to win a series against the Nats after getting owned by them last year. But still like of question marks. No homers in this series, lucked with some of their errors, and the Nats were missing some key players.

Not a bad start. Granderson with a very poor batting average, but his on-base percentage is helping the team's offense. Collins made the right choice by sticking with Granderson at the lead-off spot

Murphy seems to be climbing back to his usual self. Need Lagares to get back to his usual self on offense. And of course there's the SS hole lol. And David Wright's injury on top of that.

I wonder,if Campbell can keep batting like this, if he can play SS once Wright returns?

I also think this team might have one too many relief pitchers. You also have Vic Black and Parnell returning soon too, so that's 3 more than we need. There's probably going to be a trade in May.

Collins went with the 4 man bench to have a larger pn, which wasn't a great idea as shown in that Game 2 Phillies game. If they managed to hit some balls to Recker at third, Mets could've lost.

Did Mejia's suspension not free up a roster spot? Who did the Mets call up after he got suspended? The roster sheet looks the same to me.

Dont think they called anyone up after his suspension, not sure whats up with that. And with too many relief pitchers I think Collins adressed that they're planning on switching in up to bring in a bigger bench. But for now Id say dont fix whats not broken. If Mets continue to win series with great relief pitching why change it. hoping they can take 2 or 3 from the fish and then play the Braves to take first in NL east for now, been a while since that has happened

All I have to say now is that the Mets made a big mistake not getting Duda on an extension before the season started!

If he continues to play like this, he's going to get paid big bucks. A bargain contract is looking out of the picture.

We could lose him. Or put a load of pressure on him next season with a big contract extension.

Turns out the roster was at 25 men even with the Mejia's suspension. I don't even know who was called up in his place. This is bothering me lol.

Definitely keep Campbell once Wright returns. So that will give the 5 men bench.

As far as the relief pitching, it doesn't seem like Collins is using the big pen. I thought he should've taken Gee out before he loaded the bases tonight. That's what I thought the big bullpen is for.

Agreed, Not sure who' to blame Sandy or the Wilpons but yea if he continues at this rate we're going to have to pay him big or worse the Mets wont pay and we lose him.

Yea deffinitly have to keep him hes hitting too well right now, only question is put him on bench or move him over to SS to replace Flores, he did have the big HR tonight but besides that has not been producing.

All in all 7-3, top of the division im a happy Mets fan right now :D

Knowing our luck, Flores will get caught on roids. :)

Almost blew that game. :/ Maybe Meijia can close in these kinds of games when he returns. :)

Hopefully we can sweep the Braves too.... but I'm a little worried with no Belvins or Travis D. Those are huge losses and key players in our long streak.

Well yesterday sucked. But today we have Harvey on the mound who can throw some nice breaking balls. DeGrom who throwing too much fastballs, and you can't just do that in the AL.

I never thought Murphy would be the weakest guy in the order. Granderson is struggling to get some hits too, but he's getting on base. He's a .331 OBP and .290 average hitter his career, .150 hitting and .234 OBP this year.

Can't win games when you have like 10 blunders... Daniel Murphy is getting RBIs, but I think I'm ready to call up Dilson H. I just wish we traded Murphy last year and got more value. I like the guy, but even if he does bounce back on offense, he's still going to make mistakes on defense.

I always felt Collins puts Carlos Torres in these situations because he's afraid for a younger pitcher to get the loss...

Montero had a decent game, but kind of got screwed by the fielding. Not a bad spot starter to have.

The team is starting to slip. Those were two games that should've been wins. Some knucklehead mistakes, and the bullpen is looking weaker. The infield defense has been disastrous.

Hopefully Travis and Wright's returns gives us the boost on offense. But the bullpen is a little questionable without Blevins. Wright should be a boost at 3rd, but the defense at SS and 2B is still bad....

10-0 at home, but only 5 and 7 away mostly against a weak division.

I also don't like how they are yanking Montero around. It's obvious they are trying to showcase him in hopes to use him as trade bait. But it's not good for the kid's development. Keep him in the bullpen and spot starter in the show, or keep him starting in Vegas and call him up in September. But the reason I don't see them doing that is because they want to reserve the starting pitcher spots in September for Matz and Thor. Montero looks like the odd man out.

Curtis Granderson finally seems to do other things other than get on base.

I'm really aching for Wright and Travis to come back. This batting order has no power. And Wright should give the infield a little more defense.

Collins trusts C. Torres way too much and babies our younger guys. He should've just let Familia start the 9th.

Bullpen can't throw strikes. No run support for the starting pitchers. Error prone players. Kirk and Mayberry are batting like pitchers. Of Tejada and Flores, the one not playing always looks better than the other. This team can't be fixed by just getting a legit SS.

It's the same story for the Mets now, until Sandy is able to make a trade for a hitter this team is going to go on highs and lows all season. Our pitching staff has been phenomenal this year, we just can't muster up any runs. We don't have any speed on this team really, we don't have any power nor do we have an above average hitter.
