Also been hearing about Atiba Hutchinson coming to TFC, not sure how the finances would work but there was a few articles on that this week.

Yeah both Atiba and Aquilani are linked to TFC - and only TFC it seems - right now. No clue how it would happen.

I've got to think that Benoit Cheryou is hopping to get flipped to another team for more money.

It is painful to listen to Vic Rauters commentating a soccer match.

Fantastic win today.

Back to back road wins in MLS are very difficult. Hopefully this is the start of something special this season.

What is the best goal in Toronto FC history

When Giovinco hit his stunning free kick against the Philadelphia Union it got us thinking at Waking the Red. It was clear that it was one of the top goals in the history of Toronto FC but just what other strike would make that list? We put together a collection of our favourite goals (in no particular order) and want you, the reader, to let us know which goal was your favourite in club history.

Click the link for some great Youtube videos, focusing on the very rare positives of TFC's history.

TFC having trouble proving they are not the same team as old.

Terrible first half in front of 30,000 fans.

Damn, pretty rude of the commentators (on ESPN) to insult all Toronto sports.

Man, the crowd was amped at the beginning of this game, was super impressive. Only the ultras making noise now. Stadium is really quiet.

Altidore with an ill header. Great delivery and great goal. And a fight almost broke out after, haha!!!!!!!

Crowd is still completely silent though. Weird.

Rude, but not untrue. When all of the major sports teams here are owned by the same general corporate conglomerate, and they're ALL embarrassments, they deserve to get called out publicly for it. It's unfortunate that these owners also own much of the local media so our sissy ass reporters can't call them out on it. Every goddamn Canadian channel I flip through here is basically owned by the same 2 companies. We have no business in Toronto calling out China's control of the media and their limitations on free speech when people here employed by Rogers/Bell can't say anything about their own employers. Okay, at least we don't resort to arrest/torture when someone speaks out, but it's not like people here can say anything they want without repercussions either. The sports and media scene here is a nightmare all around.

As much as I hate ESPN, we really do need more people publicly questioning these teams in this city and even deeper, the ownership here.

Well that game sure didn't gain them any new fans.

Same old TFC, we never play with urgency until we are already a goal down. Vanney needs to be shown the door.

They actually touched on everything you just said, they were straight up rude about the Raptors though, talking about the sweep and how bad they were, they then said it's unfortunate none of the Toronto teams have had recent success given the excellent fan base. Idk much about your baseball or hockey team, but the Raptors seem to have a decent fanbase, and TFC definitely does.

I actually didn't realize MLSE owned all four Toronto sports franchises. That's a bit odd imo. How did that come about?

Also, what's up with MLSE's motto? "Bringing the World to its Feet"? Very awkwardly phrased if they meant getting people to stand up and cheer. Unless this is a Canadian phrase I'm unfamiliar with.

No one is talking about the home opener, but everyone is talking about what happened after...

Citytv reporter does great takedown of vulgar dudes

A short video clip from Citytv reporter Shauna Hunt has generated tons of buzz since it was posted on Twitter last night. In it, Hunt challenges an infantile group of men after they shout the bafflingly popular "f**k her right in the p**sy" into her microphone in the midst of an interview with soccer fans outside BMO Field.

At first it looks like she's going to ignore the immature act of sabotage, but the chance to hold these dudes accountable ultimately proves too seductive. "It's a disgusting thing to say...it's degrading to women," she firmly explains to them.

This response is refreshing partially because it puts the cat callers into the awkward position of having to justify their actions, which they completely fail to do (what a surprise). "Are you actually filming this?" is about the most articulate thing any of them can muster. Well done, guys.

What do you think of this story? The men involved if identified will be banned from all MLSE properties for at least a year.

I was in Calgary last week and in the red mile, you see a bunch of drunk fans saying the same thing on air. It's annoying but I don't think it deserves a top story here

Looks like MLSE is trying to step in to

Also heard that the social media cronies identified one of the guys saying it on the air, that guy quickly took down his facebook account
