Can't wait for this tournament to start.

I feel so bad for Fiji having to play Germany in their first game. Yikes.

I'm excited for this, but I'm not too impressed with Colombia. Don't expect much mot
Re than a second round appearance.

hooray!!!! I hope I can see most of the games....

if people really want to get a head start on upcoming young talent, the U-20s are a great venue for it. Recently I remember seeing Pogba in it vs my boys.... that French team was very intriguing in terms of overall possibilities.

Is it? The u20 team isn't typically the youth team with the best talents in that age range, at least with the german squads. The u20 is usually for the kids who haven't already established themselves with the u21s or Senior squad but are too old to continue with the u19s. And since we don't demote players for tournaments my guess would be that the german side is the side that qualified, not our best talents who would be eligible.

Brunson: So what are you paid to do?
Hart: Run around like an idiot during the game and f*** s*** up!

From my experience, the U20s often showed many of the "elite" players today....

doesn't necessarily mean the Countries themselves will be powerhouses or else Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria would be world beaters.

My south American sides do place their young guys in and its great experience for them. It also helps promote them to the next level and often times, these U20s serves as a resume for clubs to place interest.

If im not mistaken, Only Europe has the U21. The rest of the world showcases their talent in the U20 world cup. Talents like James, Messi, Oscar, among others have been stars in this tourney.

Ah, I now very little about youth football outside of europe, but a number of european nations use the u20s as a way to test guys they're thinking about for the u21s, but you haven't established themselves there yet. Now not all are as firm as the germans about letting the players that qualified play in the tourneys and so some others are more likely to bring in eligible players that weren't part of the qualifying, but I wouldn't expect the very best from any of the bigger european teams that have qualified.

Players to watch from Colombia are Alexiz Zapata, Lucumi, and Santos Borre. The latter has been tearing up in Colombia this season

That final chance for New Zealand was insane!

How did that not go in?

Colombia won unconvincingly vs Qatar yesterday by 1 0. Santos Borre has such great technique for a forward, I expect to see him in Europe in a year or 2. Joao Rodriguez also played quite well
