Re: Around the League
Spurs did fine last year though and they shot some absurd percentage from the 3 while having a lot of cutters and ball movement. I think it's more teams adjusting to this type of game now and bringing in more defensive specialists to accommodate the new game. Plus it's Memphis, they've always been built more for the playoffs than the regular season so people are always surprised when they do well.
I think GSW will be alright.

Any team can win the title if they shoot 60% from 3pt. You don't even have to play much defense. The thing is that what the Spurs did last yr was a once in a generation performance. many posters here will never see a team that was as good as the 2014 Spurs on offense for the rest of there lives. If that's what it takes to win then the Hawks and Warriors are in trouble.

I agree. But I don't like it when people say you need post scoring to win the chip when the last few years barely had post play but rather cutters and drives along with jump shooting. Which both the Spurs (perfected) and the Heat did to a lesser extent to win the chip(s).
I think the Warriors can do it and while I doubt the Hawks. This is going to be a long series.

The SPurs were not a jump shooting team by any stretch of the imagination. Of the 16 teams in the playoffs, the Spurs took the 10th amount of threes- just 27% of their shots were 3 pointers. 37% of Hawks shots are 3 pointers (3rd of all teams in the playoffs), 36% of Warriors shots are 3 pointers (3rd of all the teams in playoffs). The Spurs shot the 3 ball well but their offense was not predicated on it like ATL/GSW.
Also points in the paint isn't the same as post scoring, post scoring is just one piece of points in the paint.
All I know is Id much rather build a team like the Grizz than the Warrors

I don't think you're going to find me disagreeing with you. All I'm mostly saying is that all you really need on the offensive end to win the chip nowadays are the 3 ball, cutters, and drives instead of the traditional iso post ups. Which is what the Mavs did in 2011, the Magic tried but failed in the finals, what the Heat did for 2 times, and what the Spurs did.

Re: Around the League
I can't even say Lebron carried the tram since he shot so poorly and made costly mistakes during the last final stretches but man did he come through at the right moment.
This eastern conference is a bloodbath.

Counting on jump shooting for the entirety of the playoffs i feel will catch up to you. Then again , i don't think there's ever been a shooting backcourt like Klay and Curry.
I have predicted they go cold at some point due to fatigue , it'll be interesting to see them and Cleveland in the finals, GS trying to capture the title they should win vs Bron trying to carry his team to a championship and establish his legacy.

I think the difference between this jump shooting team compared to some in the past is the fact that they have a top 3 defense at the same time. When locked in, GS can give you some of the best team defenses, which is always pleasant to watch.
Memphis had some ridiculous shots they hit last game especially the 3rd and 4th. This time they couldn't hit em.

Curry also struggled in Game 3.

Re: Around the League
Even though they lost, Griffin looks unstoppable. Somehow he's improved his handles, his jumpers, and his footwork in the post.
I'm so impressed that I'm actually a fan now.

Re: Around the League
You could always see the potential and the glimpses of what Blake could do, it was just a question of if he can keep improving and do it consistenly, he can.
KCP the same thing, so is Dre you see the glimpses of what they can do, but can they keep improving and show consistency.

I thought he was making a good amount. GS isn't going to have the $ to keep Curry, Klay, Draymond, and Barnes are they
