I remember a couple of headers and a low cross from James. Maybe they weren't that easy, but he's been wasting chances all season long. You'd expect a 100 million man to put some of those away.

only somewhat feasible header i remember is when he had to jump diagonally between 3 defenders, he had another chance where he had to half volley again in the crowd and chiellini got in the way but neither of those were gimmes at all. i understand he may not have delivered performances his price tag indicates but this is an odd game to rag him on, he was virtually the only one making runs and taking chances particularly second half.

Agree with this. Nobody for Real posed much of a threat in the final third. Bale seemed to be the only getting on some of the half chances they had, especially in the second half.

Question to Spurs fans,

Was Bale really that good before? I mean, was he really talented and a difference maker or was it just a case of flashes of brilliance that won games for you guys? Was it just one great season or was he consistent?

I remember the screamers, but I don't remember if he was a constant performer.

Bale became a difference maker at Spurs when he was playing left midfield regularly in 2010/11. It wasn't just winners and dramatic screamers, he was an explosive star talent with the ability to beat players, play devastating passes and act as a consistent goal threat. Strong in the air, technically gifted, incredibly quick. He is being tragically misused at Real and needs to either play in his natural LM/LW position or as a more roaming attacking midfielder behind the striker. In my opinion he is the singlemost talented player to ever put on a Spurs shirt - even above Lineker, Modric, Gazza, Greaves, etc.

Our excellent team in 2011/12 (which should have achieved much more) was largely predicated on his vastly improved play. Of course, having Modric and van der Vaart helps, but Bale's ability to lead the counter attack created countless goals and goal scoring opportunities.

I would argue that with the exception of Modric, he was our most consistent, brilliant performer for 3 seasons straight. Given his recent struggles at Madrid, it's easy to forget just how good he is.

hahahaha so nice to see you guys again man :D I thought you guys all will pull another Grant Hill lmaooo

Why are we talking about German National Team? I was announcing here everyday if there was anyone who would take a bet against me about Germans not winning. All you guys kept quiet. None of you were brave enough to take a bet. In fact, all of you were trying to find an excuse for an incoming failure saying Lowe sucks, he does this, he does that. Did you have balls to take the bet? Of course not. Instead you took Swiss bet, I beat you again as usual. So don't bring up German national team. Even magiko and El Turco remembers that all of you were hiding when I was saying Germans can't win. If you didn't speak up before tournament starts - keep quiet.

Hmm.. Let's see.
Pep Guardiola cannot win CL. He couldn't win twice already.
Arsenal cannot win anything. They still couldn't win.
Cuadrado is a bad signing. They are about to sell him.
Italians will do well in Europe. 2 teams in semi final of Europa League - 1 team is the finalist of the CL.
Italians will do better than German. No need to talk about.

So where is the every single thing? lmaoooo

German teams suck. Every once in a while Bayern might win, German National Team wins WC or EC about once in 20 years. That doesn't make you guys so good or Bundesliga uber super good. Sit down and watch Serie A. There are a lot of things that Buli fans need to learn from them.

Italian teams have done better than German ones for one year now. Congratulation if that was your point.

Also predicting Arsenal cant win anything....thats like a weather announcer saying tomorrows weather will be sunny, cloudy, rainy or snowy. Again congratulations, well done bro!

lol
-pep guardiola is a champion, he's won everything possible already more than once
-not exactly that hard to predict arsenal won't win the league/CL. We might win the cup again though so technically you were wrong about arsenal not winning anything 8-)
-cuadrado okay you were right
-Italians are doing well in europe this year , it's about time again. They aren't doing anything more than the german teams have done in the past few years lol
-italians will do better than germans , wow the one year this prediction actually panned out. If you bet on it you woulda lost so much money and then made a small winning this year.

so i'm not sure where the smugness is coming from lol

I mean, sure, Germany won the World Cup, Arsenal and a German team did the four-by-four on Gala, the tiki-taka masters led by cancer Messi are on the verge of a treble.. All nightmare scenarios for the forum troll, but predictions looking good otherwise. :wordyo:

Didn't you watch last season m8? He's an incredible player. He's hit a bad vein of form and our **** fans have demolished his confidence, but you can see from his movement yesterday that he's not the **** player people make him out to be. He may have bungled a bunch of chances in the second half, but he was getting to the ball even with teammates looking for him less and less.

IMO Ronaldo's decision to cross and not shoot when he was 4 yards out from Buffon with his defender beat was a bigger mistake than anything Bale did yesterday, but what do I know.

Bale last year was great...

He definitely played aggressive yesterday, cant take that away... but missing that header...

when did we become such a crossing team? all season, crosses, crosses.... man, taking away from these guys abilities to score from the ground.

Truth be told, James was absolutely on the money when he was talking about booing players. Carlo's decision to play Casillas has been questionable at times but that's no reason not to support him. Our fans have failed spectacularly in that regard.

Barca fans (not here) were completely abyssmal yesterday  You'd think with their team possibly on a treble they'd be more focused on themselves but it was more Penaldo this, Bale that. Made me laugh, I really hope Madrid fans weren't that bad last year.

The other thing making me laugh is people think we'll fire Carlo. Perez gonna perez and all, but if we replace him with Zizou I might not post here for a while.

ahaha forgot about the messi one. CANCER messi moving out to the RW to fit in suarez and spoon feeding neymar all season. He's on the verge of another treble and his 5th ballon d'or. Can't believe that was even a thing. It wasn't just massimo too , this board is possibly the only place i've seen messi disrespected lol.
