“The job will be Fred Hoiberg’s if he wants it,” Wojnarowski said. “There’s not going to be any competition for him. Now, it’s conceivable that Fred Hoiberg decides to stay at Iowa State, but if they make a change and Tom Thibodeau is out, Fred Hoiberg is really the only candidate for this job from the Bulls perspective.

I'm thinking the same thing, but who has he ever had on his team as far as talent is concerned? Just curious

Steve Nash, and a year of Amare. He got to the WCF in 09 with them and lost to the Lakers. After the trade to NY, it was basically Nash and a bunch of (quality) role players, like Gortat, young Dragic, old Grant Hill, etc.
FWIW I thought he did a great job of managing minutes for the older guys in Phoenix, but they've got a great training staff too.

Gentry is a player's coach, I remember the Suns players loved playing for him. His Suns teams were average defensively because they didn't really have the personnel to be anything more than that.
Nash and Am are were great offensively but if they are your 1 and 5 there will be defensive issues.
I think the Bulls would be better with him running the show and giving players appropriate rest.

This is it for Gar. He gets this one wrong and he is done.

Still hoping we hire Collins as lead assistant to help Hoiberg out for a couple seasons.

I think you can add Pax to that.

I doubt it. If Pax leaves its because he wants too IMO. At this point he is not running the day to day ops anyway.

Both Woj and Stein are saying that at this point Hoiberg is the only candidate for the Bulls.

The relationship between Swanson and Thibodeau had completely deteriorated over the summer anyway, when Thibodeau and the rest of the Team USA coaching staff felt she was dishonest about the handling of Derrick Rose in preparation for the FIBA World Cup.

Swanson, who worked with Rose at the Athletes’ Performance in Los Angeles during his May 2012 surgery to repair his torn left anterior cruciate ligament and was hired by the Bulls the following summer, was asked to be interviewed for the story, but the request was denied.

There was more to it than just the minutes and restrictions on drills, however. The league source indicated that certain key Bulls players were told by personnel in training camp on more than one occasion that Thibodeau didn’t have their best interest in mind and wasn’t looking out for them long-term.

Thibs is gone, so he's really not part of the equation anymore.

Surely you're not talking about those Cowley tweets. Thats nothing more than his opinion - none of that is sourced.

I don't see how anyone can deny that Thibs looks out for guys interest, he doesn't and hasn't.

Cowley's tweets plus the post about Jen Swanson and Team USA reaction to her.

Cowley's sources? Where are Woj and Stein's sources? Cowley's tweet are newsworthy.

You have zero evidence that shows that? So Thibs plays Noah a lot of minutes equals he doesn't give a crap about a player? Puh-lease. You might hate Thibs but don't pull crap out of thin air.
