The Crew is slowly winning me back. 9-6 against pretty good competition in their last 15. +13 run differential in that span. Everybody starting to play like we know they're capable of. Especially Scooter, lol. Anyway, let's just hope the front office sees it as a chance to improve everyone's trade value. Unfortunately they're more likely to chase a wild card berth, but I'd rather have everyone play well and chase the playoffs than have everyone play so poorly that there's no point to trading them because they don't have any trade value anyway.
Most boring series thread ever.
ETA: Having RR gone is such a relief. It's mostly about talent, but sometimes I suspect the team had given up on him.

It would be such a boon to the system if one or two of these young SS's can develop into studs. It's a seemingly loaded position in the organization.

Now they're 9-7 in their last 16 with a 0 run differential.

Heck of an effort last night. This is going to set Garza's trade value back a month. Teams will need an extended stretch of good games in order to be convinced that there's nothing wrong with him. That means the Brewers won't be able to trade him as soon, which means they won't get as much in return because whoever trades for him won't get as many starts out of him.
This is a microcosm of the way the Brewers squander assets. It started at the trade deadline in 2012 when the only guy they traded was Greinke. They had a golden opportunity to rebuild. Then they played well for a few months and started the vicious cycle of deluding themselves into thinking they were anything better than average. Did they really think all these injury-prone, aging players were going to consistently be good enough to make them a legitimate contender? How dense do you have to be to not realize that a small market team is far better off trading guys like that for prospects unless they're clearly a good team, like in 2011?

My facial action coding system indicates that Peralta is not the type of player you should build around. Trade him while some team might give up a lot for him. How old will he be and how much will he cost by the time the Brewers are good again?
