ICMTM- I hear what you saying about the coaching and the development. And you mention Mark Jackson then why not keep Corbin and wait until the end of the year to hire a coach? What was the hurry to lock up a retread like Karl who has never been able to win a championship and probably never will. You have Mark Jackson, Sam Cassell, and probably Thibs. So why anger your best player when the season was going nowhere?
I had this very discussion with my nephew it took him to get me to realize that all those players we should've had; I am just going to say should've because we all know Lilliard should've been picked over Robinson and we know why he wasn't. Smart said it himself; they wanted insurance over JT leaving. We also know Kawhi should've been picked over Fredette; we also know why that didn't happen. I am not going go into Curry/Reke; although, I wanted Curry over Reke; I ended up being happy with Reke who should be still with this team.
But the one constant here is the Maloofs and the joke of an organization that they turned this franchise into. You see my nephew said Kawhi would have never been the player he is with the Spurs now, if he went to the Kings; in fact, he said none of those players would be what they are now with the Kings. Now my nephew is wrong about a lot of things but he was spot on about this. As much as it hurt to hear but it was true. So to me, this is a moot argument. And sadly it seems this team will still be stuck in ineptitude and mediocrity for much different reasons. The most glaring one being bad front office hirings which led to bad decisions. Now, we'll see where this leads but we have one pick that we are holding our breath on; hoping that he develops (Mclemore). Something a Cassell or Jackson could've definitely helped with. Another pick which made no sense when made which may turn into Fredetted pt. 2 (Stauskas).
Stay tuned....................................................
We could have got Curry, Drummong or lilard

Agreed on the front court and management. Malone had no business being fired. Malone got Cousins playing better. He got McLemore playing better. We were playing a style of basketball (it wasn't pretty, but it was a style). Karl may not be a championship coach but he's on the same level as Rick Adelman. This fan base will take that! He's shown to turn teams around and get them to win. None of those teams had been better after he left. He has gotten 3 teams to the conference championship. This will bode well for player development. Bringing in John Welch is supposed to be a big part of that.
Speaking of player development if we hit the lottery I see one of two things happening. We trade the pick for veteran players or we trade Cousins and Gay for more picks and future talent.
KANGZZZZZ!
