I don't remember when or why, but I actually liked Crunk as a poster. I'm sure he's on here somewhere.

I remember him but never really cared one way or the other about him. He was very opinionated and aggressive and wrong way more than he was right in the long run it seemed. I just noticed the similarity and the time frame for one getting banned and one joining.

If your intent was not to insult with the name "messy" then perhaps it was just a misunderstanding. I know he likes to call Marvin "Messy", so I can see how you came to that name.

shucks. there was a more general thread in the run-up to that draft where i basically said he was obviously going to be the pick and reviewed his game based on 5 or so games i watched. thought it might be in the thread you linked but nada. ah well. i'd be curious to see how right/wrong i was about projecting his game. i was mostly optimistic but had some concerns that i think were borne out in his first couple of years.

Oh that has been going on for months so I assumed it was OK. I did not even think that was what the comment was on and was why I was so confused.

He watches a ton of games through the course of the season. I don't think it's possible to see MKG play on a regular basis and not love him.

Kidd-Gilchrist is spending the summer working out in Charlotte with teammates, and he says he’s not stressed that Mark Price, the shooting guru who helped MKG rework his shot, has left to coach at UNC Charlotte. “I learned a lot from him, but it doesn’t affect me at all,” Kidd-Gilchrist said. “I’m just gonna continue to work hard.”

It’s a slow process. Defenders still leave MKG wide open to clog the paint, and Kidd-Gilchrist can’t sniff 3-point range. But he shot 50 percent from between 10 and 16 feet away, and 37 percent on long 2s — solid marks. It’s misleading to compare that with marks for guys like Dirk Nowitzki and LaMarcus Aldridge, who drain contested midrangers with such lethality that they draw extra defensive attention. They might shoot 65 percent on the looks defenses give Kidd-Gilchrist. But a bunch of bad shooters never nailed the first mini-breakthrough Kidd-Gilchrist appears to have made. That includes Tony Allen, the most obvious veteran comparison for MKG. “I was just so happy,” Kidd-Gilchrist said of his improvement. “All the hard work paid off.”

I'd be interested in hearing more about the 3 scouts let go. previous stories about "condensing the front office structure" got my attention as well. I guess that means that these "veteran scouts" were quite important before, and either Jordan or solidly-empowered Cho made the call to let them loose.

I imagine it won't be long until we hire a replacement for Price. The good thing about Price still being in Charlotte means that MKG can still reach out to him if he needs to. And in the meantime we need to get Dell Curry in the gym with our guys.

I had a post a few weeks ago that compared the staff before last season to the current staff. Will dig it up, not sure what thread it was in.
