Mario Hezonja

Post#1 » by blueadams » Mon May 18, 2015 4:48 am

This man deserves his own thread. I think he's the star of the draft. He's 6-8, 200. Well built and strong. Appears to be more than athletic enough. Doesn't play like a Euro-wing. Could play the 2 or 3, I think. Comparison-wise, I'd say some combination of Stuaskas/Turkoglu/Kobe/Ariza. Not the shooter Stauskas was, but better with the ball and going to the rim. Bigger, stronger, more athletic. Looks a little like Turkoglu/Ariza size wise and defensively. Kind of just seems to play like Kobe. I think he's THE guy.

Draft him. Sign Tobias and Middleton. And I think we're legit title contenders.

C: Dre - - - - - ?/2nd?
4: Tobias - - - - - Tolliver
3: Middleton - - - - - KCP
2: Hezonja - - - - - KCP/Meeks
1: Jackson - - - - - Jennings

Some poster who dosent post here, decides that mario needs his own thread lol.You sure you arent a fan of another team and the posters there got sick of hearing about the guy,so you decided to find a new home...

Fact of the matter is,he isnt a lebron/davis/shaq,so he isnt a sure fire anything, nobody in this draft is.Iam sure someone will come out of left field, but no one can tell you who that will be.

He's also not "better with the ball" than Stauskas. He's faster, I'd bet, but that's not the same thing.

All I know for sure about Hezonja is that he can shoot and thinks highly of himself. I've heard he's a gym rat, which is a good thing, but I've also noticed his defensive effort is, to be nice, inconsistent. I wouldn't be shocked or upset if we drafted him, but I seriously doubt he comes over and makes a positive impact right away. Tools, yes, but tools by themselves aren't worth a damn in the NBA.

How likely is it that we could sign Harris AND Middleton?

You talking about yourself or the player? You think every thought you have deserves its own thread.

I hear he is quite the intense competitor. If he is also a solid 3 point shooter, then he sounds like a SVG type of player to me.

I hope he gets hyped up enough to be picked before us at 8. Stanley is a Piston.

My thoughts exactly. If either of the Euros and Caulley-Stein get picked ahead of us, I'll be very happy.

I would take WCS over either guy and maybe over Winslow too. Russell is #1 regardless of team needs, Towns should be a solid player but his ceiling isn't all that high IMO. Okafor I want no part of, don't want to wait 3 years for Porzingis to possibly turn into something. I would almost rather trade down and pick a guy we know has a skill that will undoubtedly translate to the NBA, another guaranteed piece to the puzzle basically.

Fair enough. I haven't seen enough of WCS to say anything, but I haven't seen enough of anyone yet. I'm done wasting time doing draft stuff when I don't know where we'll pick yet.

Hezonja is much better with the ball than Stauskas. Maybe not the passer (thanks to Beilein), but off the dribble, taking it to the rim--no contest.

Anderson is much older and is a limited ball-handler and shot-creator. He's really a 3 and D type of guy. Mario is a legit elite shooter and shows much more ability to create shots-both for himself and others. Mario also has good physical tools, so in theory he could develop and give us a real two-way player. In reality I think that he'll work out as some 6th man of the year type gunner who comes off the bench and chucks like mad while gambling or being indifferent on defense, but the tools and talent are there for a good starting player.
