Doesn't sound like he's trying to force his way anywhere to me. He seemed pretty happy right after the results of the lottery came out as the camera cut to him and Okafor. He either gets to join his good pal Wiggins or he goes to the most popular franchise in the NBA, good for him.

From 2 years ago. He was a room-mate with Wiggins and calls him "Wiggy" :)

Congrats on getting a franchise big (Towns) to go with your franchise wing. Bout time for the Wolves. Hopefully KG snatches Towns and throws him under his wing really quick.

Okafor.. and by a considerable margin for me. His floor and ceiling are both higher in my opinion.

You guys have a pass-first PG in Rubio, who is more than willing to feed Okafor on the block. Having an interior presence like Okafor will free up your shooters and create driving lanes like you wouldn't believe, with Wiggins and Lavine on the roster, that would be huge.

Otis wrote:ESPN (Mike and Mike) were talking about Towns trying to force his way to LA. This (if true) would be a major red flag for me. We are looking to get a cornerstone for the franchise not a six or seven year player who runs off to Hollywood.

All this while I'm confident most players find Minny a great place and eventually come around and live there. It's not as attractive to young players. If we could work a deal with the Lakers and pick up another asset, I would draft Okafor and try to get Tyus by tading back into the first round back end. This would hopefully give me two happy players to build with Wiggy.

If all this Towns to LA is a bunch of crap, I'd draft him. But I always said I'd be happy with either so if I could get something from the Lakers and still draft Okafor, I'd do it in a heart beat.

I think current Wolves are better option for a 19 years old rookie than the current Lakers

I can.

Flip prior to his #1 pick trades Rubio + filler needed for #4 + Calderon.

With the #1 Pick Wolves select: Russell

With the #2 Lakers select: OAk or KAT

With the #3 76ers select: Mudiay

With the #4 Woves select: Oak or Kat

Rubio doesn't get you the 4th pick.

I'm not sure it works financially, it would be very close, but I would be even more happy to keep Martin.

To make it work financially it would probably need be Taj+#22 for Dieng+Budinger.

I wouldn't mind taking Budinger

people seem to have the idea that Towns is somewhat a really good athlete, when him and Okafor are similar in that regard.
Towns cant play PF.

I think the idea is that as a help defender, he would be more beneficial. One on one defense isn't as important. Pekovic was a pretty solid defender in the post, but we need a guy that contribute to a defensive unit by denying opportunities at the rim, and Towns seems to be closer to that guy.

But I like all your counter points because I have a feeling Flip will go with the Bill Duffy tie-breaker so I need to get more hyped about Okafor.

Man... i have so much work to do... until yesterday I was trying not falling in love with Towns cause I wasnt sure of be picking number one, then tried to talking myself into Okafor, WCS and even Porzingis, but now I can watch all that highlights and background videos I tried to avoid.

WE LANDED THE FIRST PICK AND ISNT A DREAM NO MORE. THE CURSE HAS BEEN LIFTED.

I just hope that if Flip actually decides that he likes Okafor more than Towns that he at least works a deal with LA to get some extra value instead of picking him at 1.

Won't happen. The Wolves will take the guy they want want at 1 and the Lakers will happily take the guy we don't at 2

Pick Okafor and don´t look back! If he becomes Shaq-esque and you don´t pick him is gonna bite you forever... Towns looks the best player as of now though.

Unless he grows 3 inches and becomes a freak of nature athlete, we can be confident that he will never be Shaq.

Therein lies the tough part. Are you willing to pass on a guy with such a dominant trait. Towns scares me in that he's pretty good in a lot of areas but I'm not sure he'll develop those skills to be dominant in any of them.

I dare teams to try to double either Wiggins or Okafor, especially with how good both of them are at passing out of double teamss.

No one said he would be Shaq.

Slightly in favor of Big Oak right now. It's gonna be non stop back and forth until the pick though

Couldn't you make the same argument with Al Jefferson vs Al Horford

In today's NBA, I don't know if it's even optional to have your center not be a plus help defender if you want to be an elite team.
